 5.  Fuel Boost Pump Output Pressure Test____________________________________
 A.  General
 (1)  This procedure does a check of the output pressure of each of the boost pumps in the No. 1 tank and the No. 2 tank. If a pump does not supply a minimum output pressure, that pump could have a problem.
 (a) The output pressure can be measured two different ways:
 1)  Method 1 measures the output pressure of each of the boost pumps at the drain for the fuel filter housing on one of the engines.
 2)  Method 2 measures the output pressure of each of the boost pumps at the forward spar fitting for the fuel feed low pressure switch. This procedure is recommended if the low pressure switches are being replaced. Also, if one switch is to be replaced, all four switches are recommended to be replaced.
 (2)  
This test measures the output pressure of all four fuel boost pumps for the two main tanks. This test is not necessary for the two fuel boost pumps for the center fuel tank.

 (3)  
This procedure incorporates the output pressure test for the fuel boost pumps from Boeing Service Bulletin 737 28A1114R3.


 B.  Equipment
 (1)  
Gage - to measure fuel pressure, Range: 0-50 psig, Accurate to +/- 1 psig (Fig. 502B)

 (2)  
Hose - with bleed valve and fitting with 0.5625-18 UNF Thread (Fig. 502B)

 (3)  
Container - able to contain fuel, 5 gallons minimum

 F. Test Preparation

 (1) Prepare the pressure gage and hose for the test (Fig. 502B).
 NOTE: The hose with the pressure gage, fitting and valve is local
____ manufacture. The pressure gage must be 0-50 psi in 1 psi divisions with an accuracy of 2 percent.
 To install the pressure gage and hose in the drain on the fuel filter housing, use a 0.5625-18 UNJF or 0.5625-18 UNF fitting on the hose.
 To install the pressure gage and hose in the forward spar fitting for the fuel feed low pressure switch, use a 0.4375-20 UNJF fitting on the hose.
