Put the tape on the wire bundle with a 50% overlap to give protection from friction.

Install the layer of tape on the wire bundle from the plug to a location on the far side of the third clamp.

NOTE: This gives you access to the front of the wing rear spar.

Go into the No. 2 fuel tank through the opening for the access panel, No. 1 (7402).

Get access to the crossfeed valve through the applicable rib access openings (AMM 28-11-11/401, AMM 28-11-31/401).

Remove the bolts that attach the fuel line flanges to the port adapter assembly.

CAUTION:_______DO NOT LET THE PORT ADAPTER ASSEMBLY FALL. DAMAGE TO THE WING SKIN OR THE SEAL SURFACES ON THE FUEL TANK CAN OCCUR.
(8) Remove the port adapter assembly.
NOTE: Two persons are necessary to do this step.

Put one person in the tank to hold the port adapter assembly up.
(b)
A second person must get access to the parts that attach the port adapter assembly out of the tank.
(c)
The second person must remove the bolts and the washers that attach the port adapter assembly.
(d)
The person in the tank must move the port adapter assembly from its position between the fuel line flanges.
