ú ú (b) Monitor the air pressure with the pressure gage or manometerand listen for the click when the relief valve opens.
NOTE:____ When the relief valve opens, it makes a click that you can hear clearly. When the relief valve opens, it also causes the manometer level to change suddenly. causes the manometer level to change suddenly.
ú ú ú ú (c) (d) Make sure the relief valve stays closed when the manometer orpressure gage shows between 0 and 4 inches of water (0 and 0.144 psig).Make sure the relief valve opens when the manometer or pressuregage shows between 4 and 16 inches of water (0.144 and 0.577 psig).

(2) Stop the air supply operation and remove the test fixture from the relief valve.

(3) Do this procedure: "Close the Relief Valve Manually".

ú (4) Install the test fixture on the relief valve again.

ú ú ú ú (5) Do these steps to put a vacuum on the pressure relief valve:(a) Open the globe shutoff valve on the leak tracer device.(b) Disconnect the hose from the positive pressure output.(c) Connect the hose to the vacuum output fitting.

ú (6) Decrease the pressure (increase the suction) to the test fixture until the relief valve opens. (a) Use the leak tracer to decrease the pressure (increase the suction) on the test fixture slowly.(b) Monitor the pressure gage or manometer level and listen for the click of the relief valve when it opens.
NOTE:____ When the relief valve opens, it makes a click that you can hear clearly. When the relief valve opens, it also causes the manometer level to change suddenly. #

ú (c) Make sure the relief valve stays closed when the pressure gage
ú or manometer shows between 0 and -55.4 inches of water (0 and
-2.0 psig).
ú (d) Make sure the relief valve opens when the pressure gage or
manometer shows between -55.4 and -76.2 inches of water (-2.0
and -2.75 psig).
(e) Stop the air supply operation.
F. Put the Airplane Back to Its Usual Condition

ú (1) Disconnect the pressure gage or manometer and the leak tracer and
remove them from the area.

(2) Remove the test fixture.
(a) Remove the test fixture from the relief valve.
(b) Put back the four usual mounting screws which attach the relief
valve to the access panel.
NOTE: These are the screws that you removed at the start____
of this procedure.

(3) Do the procedure to close the relief valve manually.
