(b) Turn the clamps out of the opening to give sufficient space to get the flange on the fuel boost pump out of the opening.
NOTE: If the clamps do not move freely, use more force to
____ move them. It is not usually necessary to loosen the shoulder bolt in the top end of the clamp.

(6) Remove the fuel boost pump.
NOTE: The O-rings on the connections of the fuel boost pump
____ have the function of seals with the mating surfaces. Thus, it is necessary to use more than the usual force to pull the fuel boost pump from its connections.
(a)
Pull the fuel boost pump away from the mounting plate in a straight line until it is free of the mounting plate.
(b)
For the aft boost pumps in the wing tanks and for the boost pumps in the center tank, lower the pump through the access opening.
(c)
For the forward boost pumps in the wing tank, carefully move the fuel boost pump out of the airplane between the front spar and the leading edge flap.

WARNING:_______DO NOT INSTALL THE INCORRECT FUEL BOOST PUMP. THE ENGINE POWER CAN DECREASE SUDDENLY OR AN ENGINE FLAMEOUT CAN OCCUR.
(1) Examine the part number on the fuel boost pump that you are
scheduled to install.
(a) If the airplane uses the JET-B/JP-4 types of fuel, do not install the fuel boost pump with the part number 10-60533.
