Make sure the crossfeed manifold valve is closed.

Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
(a) P6 Main Power Distribution Panel
1) 6B5 FUEL SHUTOFF VALVE
2) 6D3 SHUTOFF VALVE ENG 2
3) 6D7 SHUTOFF VALVE ENG 1

(3) Open the access door, No. 6212, to the shutoff valve for the engine fuel (left side) or the access door, No. 6512, (right side).
NOTE: These access doors are immediately outboard of the
____
engine.

Make sure there is less than 5360 pounds of fuel in the applicable fuel tank.

Remove the lockwire and disconnect the electrical plug from the shutoff valve.

Disconnect the bonding jumper from the shutoff valve.

Put an applicable container below the shutoff valve to catch the fuel.

Remove the nuts and washers which attach the actuator assembly and the gate assembly.
(9)
Remove the clamp from the thermal anti-ice duct.

Turn the duct to get sufficient clearance to permit the removal of the shutoff valve.

(11) Carefully remove the actuator assembly and the gate assembly as a unit from the opening in the front spar.
NOTE: If you are not scheduled to remove the port adapter
____ assembly, make sure you did not loosen the bolts that attach the port adapter assembly.

(12) To remove the actuator assembly (if necessary) from the gate assembly, do the steps that follow:
CAUTION: MAKE SURE YOU HOLD THE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY WHEN YOU REMOVE
_______ THE BOLTS. IF YOU DO NOT HOLD THE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY, THE SPLINE SHAFT CAN BE DAMAGED.
(a)
Hold the actuator assembly and remove the mounting bolts (Fig. 401).
(b)
Carefully move the actuator assembly away from the gate assembly until the output shaft is clear of mating parts and lift the actuator assembly clear.

(1) To install the actuator assembly (if necessary) to the gate
assembly, do the steps that follow:
(a)
Lightly apply a layer of grease to the splines of the output shaft.
