 (c)  
Put a rope around the outboard section of the wing and attach signs that you can see clearly that show DANGER - OPEN FUEL TANKS.

 (d)  
Make sure there is no remaining fuel in the surge tank. 1) Open the sump drain valve for the surge tank. 2) Let the remaining fuel flow into the container.

Remove the access panel (7102 or 7502) for the air vent scoop (AMM 28-11-11/401).

With the sealant tools, remove the sealant from the heads of the four bolts that attach the vent scoop to the access door.

Loosen and remove the four bolts that attach the vent scoop to the access door.

 (6)  
Remove the vent scoop.

 (7)
Remove the flame arrester from its position in the access door.

 F. Procedure
 S 114-008
 WARNING: DO NOT GET SOLVENTS IN YOUR MOUTH, OR YOUR EYES, OR ON YOUR
_______ SKIN. DO NOT BREATHE THE FUMES FROM SOLVENTS. SOLVENTS ARE HAZARDOUS MATERIALS. SOLVENTS MAY BE FLAMMABLE OR HARMFUL TO THE ENVIRONMENT. REFER TO PRODUCT MATERIAL SAFETY DATA SHEETS (MSDS) AND LOCAL REQUIREMENTS FOR PROPER HANDLING PROCEDURES.
 (1)  
Remove the remaining sealant and fully clean the mounting flanges with a clean, lintfree cloth moist with solvent, Series 95 (AMM 20-30-95/201).

 (2)  
Make sure the cells of the flame arrester are not blocked to airflow.


 (a)  Clean the flame arrester if it is necessary (AMM 28-13-31/701).
 S 424-024
 (3)  Install the flame arrester in its position on the flange of the door assembly.
 (a)  
Insert the four bolts that attach the vent scoop to the door assembly.

 (b)  
Tighten the four bolts to the applicable standard torque (AMM 20-50-11/201).
