F. MLG Beam Angle Gearbox Installation
SUBTASK 27-51-56-420-001
(1) Install the angle gearbox assembly [1]:
(a) Apply a layer of compound, C00913 to the mating surface of the gearbox assembly [1] and
the landing gear beam [9].
(b) Put the angle gearbox assembly [1] in its position on the main landing gear beam [9].
(c) Apply compound, C00913 to the shank and threads of the bolts [5].

(d) Install the bolts [5], washers [6], washers [7] and nuts [8] to attach the gearbox assembly [1]
to the main landing gear beam [9].
SUBTASK 27-51-56-420-002
(2) Connect the torque tubes [10] to the gearbox assembly [1]:
(a) Apply grease, D00633 to the coupling sleeves [4].
(b) Put the splined couplings [2] in the coupling sleeves [4].
(c) Install the screws [3] to attach the torque tubes [10] to the gearbox assembly [1].
(d) Install lockwire on the screws [3].
(e) Remove the clamp set, SPL-1726 from the torque tube [10] outboard of the gearbox
assembly [1].

(3) If the torque tubes [10] moved, while they were disconnected, do this task: Trailing Edge Flap
Drive System Adjustment, TASK 27-51-00-820-802.

(4) Lubricate the torque tubes [10]. To lubricate the torque tubes [10], do this task: Trailing Edge
Flap Torque Tube and Torque Tube Support Lubrication, TASK 12-22-51-640-801.
G. Put the Airplane Back to Its Usual Condition

(1) Do this task: Trailing Edge Flap System Reactivation, TASK 27-51-00-440-801.

(2) Use the primary system to retract the flaps to the UP position, do this task: Trailing Edge Flap
System Operation With Primary Control, TASK 27-51-00-860-801.
(a) Make sure the pointers for the flap position indicators are in the UP white band.

(3) Use the primary system to extend the flaps to the 40-unit position, do this task: Trailing Edge
