(1) If the trailing edge flaps are not in the retracted position, do this task: Retract the Trailing Edge
Flaps, TASK 27-51-00-860-804.
SUBTASK 27-51-63-480-001
WARNING: MAKE SURE THE DOWNLOCK PINS ARE INSTALLED ON ALL THE LANDING GEAR.
WITHOUT THE DOWNLOCK PINS, THE LANDING GEAR CAN RETRACT AND CAUSE
INJURIES TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(2) If the downlock pins are not installed in the nose and main landing gear, do this task: Landing
Gear Downlock Pins Installation, TASK 32-00-01-480-801.

(4) Remove the switch cover [8] from the flap control unit [1]:
(a) Remove the screws [7] and washers [21] that attach the switch cover [8].
(b) Remove the switch cover [8] from the flap control unit [1].

(5) Disconnect the electrical wires from the applicable limit switch:
(a) Disconnect the connectors [6] for the wire bundle [5].
(b) Remove the screws [4] and the six clamps [3] for the wire bundle [2].
(c) Cut the wire bundle ties and isolate the switch wires from the remaining wires in the wire
bundle [2].
(d) Remove the switch leads from the connector [6].

(6) Remove the limit switch [9]:
(a) Remove the roller guide lock ring [12] from the roller guide [11].
(b) Remove the roller guide [11] from the limit switch [9].
(c) Remove the nut [13] and washer [14] from the limit switch [9].
(d) Remove the limit switch [9] with the nut [13] and washer [15] from the flap control unit [1].
(e) Put the nut [13], washer [14], roller guide [11] and the roller guide lock ring [12] on the limit
switch [9] to keep the parts together.

(7) Remove the limit switch [10]:
(a) Remove the roller guide lock ring [17] from the roller guide [16].
(b) Remove the roller guide [16] from the limit switch [10].
(c) Remove the nut [18] and washer [19] from the limit switch [10].
(d) Remove the limit switch [10] with the nut [18] and washer [20] from the flap control unit [1].
(e) Put the nut [18], washer [19], roller guide [16] and the roller guide lock ring [17] on the limit
switch [10] to keep the parts together.
