E. Flap Hydraulic Motor Installation
SUBTASK 27-51-52-420-001
(1) If you will install a new motor assembly [3], install the reducers [4], elbow [9], valve [11],
packings [5], packing [12] as follows:
(a) Apply MCS 352B fluid, D00054 or fluid, D00153 to the new packings [5] and packing [12].
(b) Install the packings [5] and the reducers [4] in the motor assembly [3].
(c) Install the packing [12] and the valve [11] in the motor assembly [3].
(d) Install the elbow [9] in the valve [11].

(2) Install the motor assembly [3]:
(a) Apply grease, D00633 to the splines on the output shaft [8] of the motor assembly [3]:
(b) Fill the space between the motor assembly [3] and the PDU [2] with grease, D00633.
(c) Apply a thin layer of compound, C00913 to the mating surface of the motor assembly [3] and
the PDU [2].
(d) Put the motor assembly [3] in its location on the PDU [2].
(e) Apply compound, C00913 to the shank and threads of the bolts [6].
(f) Install the bolts [6] and washers [7] to attach the motor assembly [3].
(g) Tighten the bolts [6] to 95-115 pound-inches (10.8-13.0 newton-meters).

(3) Connect the hydraulic lines [1] to the motor assembly [3]:
(a) Remove the caps from the hydraulic lines [1].
(b) Remove the plugs from the ports on the motor assembly [3].
(c) Install the hydraulic lines [1] in the motor assembly [3].

WARNING: KEEP PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT CLEAR OF THE FLIGHT CONTROL SURFACES, THE
THRUST REVERSERS, AND THE LANDING GEAR. THESE COMPONENTS CAN MOVE
SUDDENLY WHEN YOU SUPPLY HYDRAULIC POWER. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURIES TO
PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(4) Supply system B hydraulic power, do this task: Hydraulic System A or B Pressurization,
TASK 29-11-00-860-801.

(5) Use the primary system to extend and retract the flaps. To extend and retract the flaps, do this
task: Trailing Edge Flap System Operation With Primary Control, TASK 27-51-00-860-801.

(6) Make sure there are no hydraulic leaks from the motor assembly [3].
F. Put the Airplane Back to Its Usual Condition

(1) Remove system B hydraulic power, do this task: Hydraulic System A or B Power Removal,
TASK 29-11-00-860-805.

(2) If it is necessary, fill the system B hydraulic reservoir. To fill the reservoir, do this task: Hydraulic
Reservoir Servicing, TASK 12-12-00-610-801.

FLAP ELECTRIC MOTOR - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
1. General
A. This procedure has these tasks:
(1) A removal of the flap electric motor
(2) An installation of the flap electric motor.
B. The flap electric motor is installed on the flap power drive unit (PDU) in the main wheel well.
C. The flap electric motor weighs approximately 16 pounds (7.3 kilograms).

WARNING: MAKE SURE THE DOWNLOCK PINS ARE INSTALLED ON ALL THE LANDING GEAR.
WITHOUT THE DOWNLOCK PINS, THE LANDING GEAR CAN RETRACT AND CAUSE
INJURIES TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1) If the downlock pins are not installed in the nose and main landing gear, do this task: Landing
Gear Downlock Pins Installation, TASK 32-00-01-480-801.
