OUTBOARD FLAP CARRIAGES - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
1. General
A. This procedure has these tasks:
(1) A removal of the outboard carriage for the outboard flap
(2) An installation of the outboard carriage for the outboard flap
(3) A removal of the inboard carriage for the outboard flap
(4) An installation of the inboard carriage for the outboard flap.

(1) This task is applicable to the flap carriages at flap supports No. 1 and 8.

(2) Do this task: Outboard Trailing Edge Flap Removal, TASK 27-51-21-000-801.
E. Outboard Flap Outboard Carriage Removal
SUBTASK 27-51-23-020-002
(1) Remove the nut [13], washer [12], washer [10], bolt [9] and bushing [11] that attach the aft flap
pushrod [16] to the aft flap [3].
SUBTASK 27-51-23-020-003
(2) Remove the bellcrank assembly [19] from the carriage assembly [1]:
NOTE: You can remove the aft flap drive rod [18] and the aft flap pushrod [16] with the
bellcrank assembly [19].
(a) Remove the nuts [28], washers [27], bolt [20] and bolt [26] that attach the rubcap [17] to the
bellcrank assembly [19].
(b) Remove the nut [24], washer [23], washer [22] and bolt [21] that attach the bellcrank
assembly [19] to the carriage assembly [1].

(c) Measure and record the distance between the center of the bolt hole in the adjustment
fitting [54] and the bellcrank assembly [19].
NOTE: This distance is referred to as Dimension A. This dimension will be used during
the installation of the bellcrank assembly [19].

(3) Manually extend the aft flap [3] away from the main flap [2].

(4) Remove the leading edge skin panel [33] from the main flap [2] forward of the carriage
