2. Outboard Flap Outboard Support Forward Fairing Removal
(Figure 401)
A. General
(1) This task is applicable to the forward fairing on the No. 1 and No. 8 flap supports.

SUBTASK 27-51-28-040-001
(1) Do this task: Trailing Edge Flap System Deactivation, TASK 27-51-00-040-801.
SUBTASK 27-51-28-020-001
(2) Remove the forward fairing assembly [1]:
(a) Remove the bolts [6] that attach the forward end of the forward fairing assembly [1].
(b) Support the forward fairing assembly [1] and remove the bolts [4] and washers [5] that
attach the forward fairing assembly [1] to the fairing attach fitting assembly [13].
(c) Lower the forward fairing assembly [1] until you can get access to the nuts [11] on the
jumper wires [22].
(d) Remove the nuts [11] and washers [12] that attach the jumper wires [22].
(e) Remove the jumper wires [22] from the studs.
(f) Remove the forward fairing assembly [1].

(3) If it is necessary, remove the fairing attach fitting assembly [13]:

the transmission attach fitting [10].
