WARNING: MAKE SURE PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE AWAY FROM THE TRAILING EDGE
FLAPS AND THE LEADING EDGE FLAPS AND SLATS. THE FLAPS AND SLATS WILL
MOVE. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURIES TO PERSON AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(4) Move the flap control lever to the 1-unit position. Wait for the flaps and slats to move to the 1-unit
position.

(5) Move the ALTERNATE FLAPS ARM switch to the ARM position.

(6) Move the ALTERNATE FLAPS control switch to the UP position and hold it until the trailing edge
flaps stop moving.

(7) Use the FSEU to do a check of the position of the trailing edge flaps:
(a) Push the ON/OFF button on the front panel of the FSEU to turn the display on.
NOTE: The display will show EXISTING FAULTS?.
(b) Push the down arrow until OTHER FUNCTNS? shows on the display.
(c) Push the YES button to select OTHER FUNCTNS? on the FSEU.
(d) Push the down arrow until I/O MONITOR? shows on the display.
(e) Push the YES button to select I/O MONITOR? from the menu.
(f) Push the down arrow until SYNCRO INPUTS? shows on the display.
(g) Push the YES button to select SYNCHRO INPUTS? from the menu.
(h) Push the down arrow to find the L FL POS and R FL POS indications on the menu.
(i) Make sure that the L FL POS and R FL POS indications are in the limit of -1.2 to 4.7.
(j) Push the ON/OFF button on the front panel of the FSEU to turn the front panel display off.

(8) Move the flap control lever to the UP position to agree with the position of the flaps.

(a) Do a test of the stall management yaw damper (SMYD) function of the S245 flap limit switch.
(b) Push the ON/OFF button on the SMYD 1 and 2 BITE panel to turn on the BITE display.
(c) Make sure the SMYD BITE display shows ‘‘EXISTING FAULTS?’’.
(d) Push the down arrow button to the selection ‘‘GROUND TESTS?’’
(e) Push the YES button.
(f) Push the down arrow button to the selection ‘‘DISCRETE INPUTS?’’.
(g) Push the YES button.
(h) Push the down arrow button as necessary until the display shows ‘‘FLAP UP = UP’’.

(k) Move the flap control lever to the UP position.
(l) Make sure the SMYD BITE display shows ‘‘FLAP UP = UP’’.
(m) Push the ON/OFF button on the SMYD 1 and 2 BITE panel to turn off the BITE display.
