WARNING: MAKE SURE THE DOWNLOCK PINS ARE INSTALLED ON ALL THE LANDING GEAR.
WITHOUT THE DOWNLOCK PINS, THE LANDING GEAR CAN RETRACT AND CAUSE
INJURIES TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(2) If the downlock pins are not installed in the nose and main landing gear, do this task: Landing
Gear Downlock Pins Installation, TASK 32-00-01-480-801.

(3) Do this task: Trailing Edge Flap System Deactivation, TASK 27-51-00-040-801.

(4) Remove the switch cover [3] from the flap control unit [1]:
(a) Remove the screws [2] and washers [11] that attach the switch cover [3].
(b) Remove the switch cover [3] from the flap control unit [1].
F. Flaps UP Limit Switch S245 Adjustment

(1) Move the trailing edge flaps until the Dimension X on the Number 4 or 5 ballscrew is 0.79 ±0.03
inches (20.07 ±0.76 millimeters), do this task: Extend the Trailing Edge Flaps,
TASK 27-51-00-860-803.
NOTE: You will only extend the trailing edge flaps a small distance to get to this position. Do
not disconnect the torque tubes from the power drive unit to extend the flaps.

(2) Adjust the position of the Flaps UP limit switch [4], S245:
NOTE: It is necessary to move the limit switch [4] away from the cam [6] for the adjustment.
There will be no continuity through the switch pins 1 and 3 when the switch operates.
Check for no continuity between pin 12 and ground at connector D46044P.
(a) Loosen the nuts [8] on the limit switch [4].
(b) Use the nuts [8] to adjust the position of the limit switch [4] until it is depressed against the
cam [6].
NOTE: There will be continuity between pins 1 and 3 on the limit switch [4]. Check for
continuity between pin 12 and ground at connector D46044P.
(c) Carefully loosen the inside nut [8], and then tighten the outside nut [8] to move the limit
switch [4] away from the cam [6] until there is not continuity through the pins.
(d) Make sure the limit switch [4] is in the correct position:
1) Pull the cable WFFB [11] to the side to turn the cam [6] slightly in the extend direction.
NOTE: Pull on the cable to deflect it approximately 1.2 inch (30.5 millimeters). Cable
WFFB [11] is the upper cable between the flap power drive unit and the flap
control unit [1].
2) Make sure there is continuity between the pins.
3) Pull the cable WFFA [12] to the side to turn the cam [6] slightly in the retract direction.
NOTE: Pull on the cable to deflect it approximately 1.2 inch (30.5 millimeters). Cable
WFFA [12] is the lower cable between the flap power drive unit and the flap
control unit [1].
4) Make sure there is no continuity between the pins.
5) Make fine adjustments of the nuts [8] until the limit switch [4] is in the correct position.

(e) Tighten the nuts [8] on the limit switch [4] to a minimum of 15 inch-pounds (1.695 Nm).
(f) Install lockwire on the nuts [8].
(g) Fillet seal with sealant, A02315

(3) Do the test of the Flaps UP limit switch [4], S245, do this task: Flaps UP Limit Switch, S245
Functional Test, TASK 27-51-63-720-801.
G. Flaps UP Limit Switch S1051 Adjustment
SUBTASK 27-51-63-860-010
(1) Move the trailing edge flaps until the Dimension X on the Number 4 or 5 ballscrew is 1.18 ±0.03
inches (29.97 ±0.76 millimeters), do this task: Extend the Trailing Edge Flaps,
TASK 27-51-00-860-803.
NOTE: This position is approximately 1 1/2 turn of the ballscrew from the upstop. Do not
disconnect the torque tubes from the power drive unit to extend the flaps.

(2) Adjust the position of the Flaps UP limit switch [4], S1051:
NOTE: It is necessary to move the limit switch [4] away from the cam for adjustment. There will
be no continuity through the switch pins 1 and 3 when the switch operates. Check for no
continuity between pins 5 and 15 at connector D46040P.
(a) Loosen the nuts [8] on the limit switch [4].
(b) Use the nuts [8] to adjust the position of the limit switch [4] until the switch is depressed
against the cam [6].
NOTE: There will be continuity between pins 1 and 3 on the limit switch [4]. Check for
continuity between pins 5 and 15 at connector D46040P.
(c) Carefully loosen the inside nut [8], and then tighten the outside nut [8] to move the limit
