2) Make sure the Dimension A on the bellcrank assembly [85] you will install is the same
as the bellcrank assembly [85] that you removed.
NOTE: The nominal dimension of the inboard bellcrank assembly [85] is 14.56 inches.
3) If the bellcrank assembly [85] is not the correct length, adjust the bellcrank
assembly [85]:
a) Loosen the nuts [123] on the adjustment fitting [122] until the locking washer [124] is
disengaged from the bellcrank assembly [85].
b) Change the position of the adjustment fitting [122].
c) Engage the locking washer [124] with the bellcrank assembly [85].
d) Tighten the nuts [123] on the adjustment fitting [122].
e) Install lockwire on the nuts [123].
(b) Apply grease, D00633 to the shank of the bolt [89].
NOTE: Make sure you do not get grease, D00633 on the threads of the bolt [89].
(c) Put the bellcrank assembly [85] in its position on the carriage assembly [71].
(d) Install the bolt [89] and washer [90] to attach the bellcrank assembly [85] to the carriage
assembly [71].
(e) Carefully clean all of the grease, D00633 from the threads of the bolt [89].
(f) Install the nut [92] and washer [91] on the bolt [89].
(g) Tighten the nut [92] to 240-410 pound-inches (27.2-46.3 newton-meters).
(h) Install the pin [93] in the nut [92].

(i) Attach the rubcap [86] to the bellcrank assembly [85] with the bolt [88], bolt [94], washers
[95] and nuts [96].

(8) Connect the aft flap pushrod [94] to the aft flap [3]:
(a) Apply grease, D00633 to the shank of the bolt [77] and the inside of the bushing [79].
NOTE: Make sure you do not get grease, D00633 on the threads of the bolt [77].
(b) Install the bushing [79], bolt [77] and washer [78] to attach the aft flap pushrod [84] to the aft
flap [3].
NOTE: Make sure the head of the bolt [77] is inboard.
(c) Carefully clean all of the grease, D00633 from the threads of the bolt [77].
(d) Install the nut [81] and washer [80] on the bolt [77].
(e) Tighten the nut [81] to 65-100 pound-inches (7.4-11.2 newton-meters).
(f) Install the pin [82] in the nut [81].
G. Put the Airplane Back to Its Usual Condition

OUTBOARD FLAP CARRIAGES - INSPECTION/CHECK
1. General
A. This procedure contains the task to do an inspection of the carriages for the inboard trailing edge
flaps.

A. General
(1) This task gives wear limits for the outboard carriage on the outboard flap.
(2) This task is applicable to the carriages at flap supports No. 1 and 8.

(2) Use these tools to do a check for wear on the part of the outboard flap outboard carriage:
(a) micrometer (0-1 Inch, readable to 1/1000 Inch), STD-1096
(b) readable to 1/1000 inch vernier 0 - 6 inch caliper, STD-1097.

(3) Examine the parts of the outboard flap outboard carriage (Table 601):
(a) Remove the parts that you will measure.
(b) Measure the parts with a micrometer (0-1 Inch, readable to 1/1000 Inch), STD-1096 or a
readable to 1/1000 inch vernier 0 - 6 inch caliper, STD-1097.
(c) Compare the dimensions you measured with the permitted wear dimensions.
(d) If the parts are not in tolerance, replace or repair the parts.
