(a) Remove the bolts [101] that attach the leading edge skin panel [100].
(b) Remove the leading edge skin panel [100] from the main flap [2].

(5) Remove the nut [75], washer [74], washer [73] and bolt [72] that attach the failsafe link [83] to the
carriage assembly [71].
(a) Move the failsafe link [83] away from the carriage assembly [71].

(6) Remove the carriage assembly [71] from the main flap [2]:
(a) Remove the nut [120], washer [119], bushing [118], washer [117] and bolt [116] that attach
the aft link assembly [103] to the aft link fitting assembly [115].
(b) Remove the nut [104] and washer [105] that attach the aft link assembly [103] to the main
flap [2].
(c) Remove the aft link assembly [103] from the aft link fitting [116] and the main flap [2].
(d) Remove the nut [97] and washer [98] that attach the forward end of the carriage
assembly [71] to the main flap [2].
(e) Move the carriage assembly [71] forward, away from the main flap [2].

(a) Remove the nuts [113], washers [112] and bolts [111] that attach the aft link fitting
assembly [115] to the carriage assembly [71].
(b) Measure and record the thickness of the shims [114].
