SUBTASK 27-51-31-420-001
(1) Install the transmission assembly [4]:
NOTE: The transmission assembly [4] weighs approximately 50 pounds (23 kilograms).
(a) Apply a thin layer of compound, C00913 to the mating surface of the transmission
assembly [4] and the transmission attach fitting [15].
(b) Apply a layer of compound, C00913 to the bolt holes in the transmission assembly [4].
(c) Apply a layer of compound, C00913 to the shank and threads of the bolts [21].
(d) Carefully lift the transmission assembly [4] to its position on the transmission attach fitting
[15].

(e) Install the bolts [21], washers [22], washers [23] and nuts [24] to attach the transmission
assembly [4] to the transmission attach fitting [15].
(f) Tighten the nuts [24] to 500-550 pound-inches (56.5-62.1 newton-meters) more than the runon
torque.
SUBTASK 27-51-31-420-002
(2) Connect the ballscrew assembly [6] to the yoke [16] on the transmission assembly [4]:
(a) Turn the ballscrew nut [28] until it is at the forward end of the ballscrew assembly [6].
(b) Apply a layer of grease, D00633 to the mating surfaces of the yoke [16] and the ballscrew
assembly [6].
(c) Put the ballscrew assembly [6] into the yoke [16].
