(1) Do this task: Supply Electrical Power, TASK 24-22-00-860-811.

(2) Make sure the system B hydraulic power is off. If it is on, do this task: Hydraulic System A or B
Power Removal, TASK 29-11-00-860-805.

(3) If the flap position transmitter is not installed, then install it. To install the flap position
transmitter, do this task: Flap Position Transmitter Installation, TASK 27-58-01-400-801.
F. Flap Position Transmitter Adjustment

(1) To get access to the FSEU in the main equipment center, do this step.
Open this access panel:

(2) Use the FSEU to read the sensor inputs from the applicable flap position transmitter to the FSEU:
(a) Push the ON/OFF button on the front panel of the FSEU to turn on the display.
NOTE: The display will show EXISTING FAULTS?
(b) Push the down arrow until OTHER FUNCTNS? shows on the display.
(c) Push the YES button to select OTHER FUNCTNS? on the FSEU.
(d) Push the down arrow until I/O MONITOR? shows on the display.
(e) Push the YES button to select I/O MONITOR? from the menu.
(f) Push the down arrow until SYNCRO INPUTS? shows on the display.
(g) Push the YES button to select SYNCHRO INPUTS? from the menu.
(h) Push the down arrow until the applicable L FL POS, or R FL POS shows on the display.
NOTE: The FSEU will continue to show the applicable left or right position transmitter
output.
NOTE: If you do not push any buttons for five minutes, the display will turn off. To keep
the display active, push the down arrow and then the up arrow buttons
occasionally.

WARNING: MOVE ALL PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT AWAY FROM THE TRAILING EDGE FLAPS,
AND THE LEADING EDGE FLAPS AND SLATS. THESE SURFACES WILL MOVE AND
CAN CAUSE INJURIES TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(3) Move the ALTERNATE FLAPS ARM switch on the P5 panel to arm the alternate control system.

CAUTION: WAIT A MINIMUM OF 15 SECONDS AFTER THE FLAPS STOP BEFORE YOU USE THE
ALTERNATE SYSTEM TO MOVE THE FLAPS AGAIN. YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO
THE FLAP ALTERNATE MOTOR.
(4) Move the ALTERNATE FLAPS control switch to UP or DOWN to move the trailing edge flaps.
Move the trailing edge flaps until the L FL POS or R FL POS indication on the FSEU is
approximately 180 degrees.
NOTE: This is an initial position for the flaps. The position of the flaps will be set more
accurately in subsequent steps.

(5) Move the ALTERNATE FLAPS control switch to DOWN to make sure the indication on the FSEU
increases.
(a) If the indication decreases, the flap position transmitter is installed on the wrong wing.

(6) Move the trailing edge flaps until the L FL POS or R FL POS indication is at 180.0 ±0.4 degrees.
NOTE: You can use the manual drive on the flap power drive unit, or the alternate flaps control
to move the flaps.
(a) To use the manual drive to move the flaps, do this task: Trailing Edge Flap System
Manual Operation, TASK 27-51-00-980-801.
(b) To use the alternate flaps control, move the ALTERNATE FLAPS control switch until the
indication is in the limit.

(7) Open these circuit breakers and install safety tags:
