(b) Install the plug [51] and the packing [52] in the drain port.
(c) Tighten the plug [51] to 110-130 pound-inches more than the run-on torque.
(d) Install lockwire on the plug [51].

(5) Fill the power drive unit [21] with fluid, D00467. To fill it, (TASK 12-22-51-610-801).

(6) Make sure there are no hydraulic leaks from the power drive unit [21]:
(a) Do this task:Trailing Edge Flap System Operation With Primary Control,

(b) Operate the flaps full up to full down a minimum of 3 cycles while checking for leaks from
the new PDU seal.
H. Put the Airplane Back to Its Usual Condition

WARNING: KEEP PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT CLEAR OF THE FLIGHT CONTROL SURFACES, THE
THRUST REVERSERS, AND THE LANDING GEAR. THESE COMPONENTS CAN MOVE
SUDDENLY WHEN YOU SUPPLY HYDRAULIC POWER. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURIES TO
PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(3) Supply system B hydraulic power, do this task: Hydraulic System A or B Pressurization,
TASK 29-11-00-860-801.
NOTE: Do not use the EMDP for this test. It does not create enough pressure to meet the
extend and retract time limits.

E. Flap Power Drive Unit Functional Test
SUBTASK 27-51-51-730-001
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF THE LE AND TE
FLAPS AND FLAP DRIVE MECHANISMS. THE FLAPS CAN CAUSE INJURIES TO
PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1) Do a test of the primary operation of the trailing edge flaps:
(a) Move the flap control lever to the UP position and wait for the flaps to reach the UP position.
(b) Push the ON/OFF button on the front panel of the FSEU to turn on the display.
NOTE: The display will show EXISTING FAULTS?
(c) Do a check of the flap lever sensor, position sensors and skew sensor inputs to the FSEU:
1) Push the down arrow until OTHER FUNCTNS? shows on the display.
2) Push the YES button to select OTHER FUNCTNS? on the FSEU.
3) Push the down arrow until I/O MONITOR? shows on the display.
4) Push the YES button to select I/O MONITOR? from the menu.
5) Push the down arrow until SYNCHRO INPUTS? shows on the display.
6) Push the YES button to select SYNCHRO INPUTS? from the menu.
7) Make sure the inputs for the sensors are in the limits shown in (Table 501) for the UP
position.
NOTE: Push the arrow keys to step through the sensor values.
