FLAP HYDRAULIC MOTOR - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
1. General
A. This procedure has these tasks:
(1) A removal of the flap hydraulic motor
(2) An installation of the flap hydraulic motor.
B. The flap hydraulic motor is installed on the flap power drive unit (PDU) in the main landing gear
wheel well.

C. Prepare for the Removal
SUBTASK 27-51-52-480-001
WARNING: MAKE SURE THE DOWNLOCK PINS ARE INSTALLED ON ALL THE LANDING GEAR.
WITHOUT THE DOWNLOCK PINS, THE LANDING GEAR CAN RETRACT AND CAUSE
INJURIES TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1) If the downlock pins are not installed in the nose and main landing gear, do this task: Landing
Gear Downlock Pins Installation, TASK 32-00-01-480-801.
SUBTASK 27-51-52-860-001
(2) Remove the pressure from the system B hydraulic reservoir. To remove the pressure, do this
task: Hydraulic Reservoirs Depressurization, TASK 29-11-01-860-802 or Hydraulic
Reservoirs Depressurization, TASK 29-09-00-860-802.
D. Flap Hydraulic Motor Removal
SUBTASK 27-51-52-020-001
(1) Disconnect the three hydraulic lines [1]:
(a) Disconnect the hydraulic lines [1] from the motor assembly [3].
(b) Install caps on the hydraulic lines [1].
(c) Install plugs in the ports on the motor assembly [3].
SUBTASK 27-51-52-020-002
(2) Remove the motor assembly [3]:
(a) Remove the bolts [6] and washers [7] that attach the motor assembly [3] to the PDU [2].
(b) Remove the motor assembly [3] from the PDU [2].

(3) If you will install a new motor assembly [3], remove the reducers [4], elbow [9], valve [11] and
packings [5], packing [10] and packing [12] from the motor assembly [3].
