3. Flap Limit Switch Installation

A. General
(1) This task is applicable to the TE Flaps UP switch, S245, the TE Flaps DOWN switch, S246 and the
TE Flaps UP switch S1051.

E. Flap Limit Switch Installation
SUBTASK 27-51-63-420-001
(1) Install the limit switch [9]:
(a) Remove the roller guide lock ring [12], roller guide [11], nut [13] and washer [14] from the
limit switch [9].
(b) Put the limit switch [9] with the washer [15] and nut [13] in its location on the flap control unit
[1].
(c) Install the washer [14] and nut [13] to hold the limit switch [9] in its position.
(d) Put the roller guide [11] in its position on the limit switch [9].
(e) Install the roller guide lock ring [12] to hold the roller guide [11] in its position.

(2) Install the limit switch [10]:
(a) Remove the roller guide lock ring [17], roller guide [16], nut [18] and washer [19] from the
limit switch [10].
(b) Put the limit switch [10] with the washer [20] and nut [18] in its location on the flap control
unit [1].
(c) Install the washer [19] and nut [18] to hold the limit switch [10] in its position.
(d) Put the roller guide [16] in its position on the limit switch [10].
(e) Install the roller guide lock ring [17] to hold the roller guide [16] in its position.

(3) Make sure the resistance between the limit switch and the flap control unit [1] is less than 2.5
milliohms.

(4) Attach the electrical wires for the limit switch:
(a) Connect the switch leads to the connectors [6].
(b) Attach the connectors [6].
(c) Install new wire bundle ties on the wire bundle [2].
(d) Put the clamps [3] in their locations on the wire bundle [2].
(e) install the screws [4] to attach the clamps [3].
