F. Flap Skew Detection System Functional Test
SUBTASK 27-59-00-860-003
WARNING: KEEP PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT CLEAR OF THE FLIGHT CONTROL SURFACES, THE
THRUST REVERSERS, AND THE LANDING GEAR. THESE COMPONENTS CAN MOVE
SUDDENLY WHEN YOU SUPPLY HYDRAULIC POWER. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURIES TO
PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1) Use a hydraulic cart , or the EDP to supply system B hydraulic power, do this task: Hydraulic
System A or B Pressurization, TASK 29-11-00-860-801.
NOTE: The EMDP will not supply sufficient hydraulic power for this test.

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF THE LE AND TE
FLAPS AND FLAP DRIVE MECHANISMS. THE FLAPS CAN CAUSE INJURIES TO
PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(2) Move the flap control lever to the UP position and wait for the flaps to reach the UP position.

(a) Make sure the pointers on the flap position indicator are in the UP white band.

(3) Do a check of the skew sensor inputs to the FSEU:
(a) Push the ON/OFF button on the front panel of the FSEU to turn on the display.
NOTE: The display will show EXISTING FAULTS?
(b) Push the down arrow until OTHER FUNCTNS? shows on the display.
(c) Push the YES button to select OTHER FUNCTNS? on the FSEU.
(d) Push the down arrow until I/O MONITOR? shows on the display.
(e) Push the YES button to select I/O MONITOR? from the menu.
(f) Push the down arrow until SYNCRO INPUTS? shows on the display.
(g) Push the YES button to select SYNCHRO INPUTS? from the menu.
(h) Make sure the inputs for the skew sensors are in the limits shown in (Table 502) for the UP
position.
NOTE: Push the down arrow key to step through the sensor values.

(i) Move the flap control lever to the 10-unit position to extend the flaps.
(j) Make sure the pointers on the flap position indicator are in the 10-unit white band.
(k) Make sure the inputs for the skew sensors are in the limits shown in (Table 502) for the 10-
unit position.
NOTE: Push the down arrow key to step through the sensor values.
(l) Move the flap control lever to the 40-unit position to extend the flaps.
(m) Make sure the pointers on the flap position indicator are in the 40-unit white band.
(n) Make sure the inputs for the skew sensors are in the limits shown in (Table 502) for the 40-
unit position.
NOTE: Push the down arrow key to step through the sensor values.
(o) Move the flap control lever to the 1-unit position to retract the flaps.
NOTE: Measure the time it takes for the trailing edge flaps to retract from the 40-unit
position to the 1-unit position. The time should be in the limit of 22-27 seconds.

(p) Push the ON/OFF button on the front panel of the FSEU to turn it off.
G. Put the Airplane Back to Its Usual Condition

(1) Move the flap control lever to the UP position to retract the flaps.

(2) For the main equipment center.
