NOTE: On transmission No. 4, make sure the ball returns are on the outboard side.
On transmission No. 5, make sure the ball returns are on the inboard side.
a) Remove the nuts [59], washers [58], washers [57] and bolts [56] that attach the
ballscrew assembly [42] to the yoke [53].
b) Turn the ballscrew assembly [42] 1808 in the yoke [53].
c) Install the bolts [56], washers [57], washers [58] and nuts [59].
(g) Tighten the nuts [59].

(3) Connect the ballscrew assembly [42] with the gimbal [43] to the carriage [47]:
(a) Move the gimbal [43] to the downstop on the ballscrew assembly [42].
NOTE: On transmission No. 4, make sure the ball returns on the ballscrew nut [55] are on
the outboard side. On transmission No. 5, make sure the ball returns on the
ballscrew nut [55] are on the inboard side.
(b) Move the carriage [47] to align with the gimbal [43].
(c) Install the carriage bushings [46] to attach the gimbal [43] to the carriage [47].
(d) Install the bolts [41], washers [45] and nuts [44] that attach the gimbal bushing [46] to the
carriage [47].
(e) Tighten the nuts [44] to 65-75 pound-inches (7.4-8.4 newton-meters) more than the run-on
torque.

(4) Install the u joint assembly [70]:
(a) Put the u joint assembly [70] in its position between the transmission assembly [49] and the
tee angle gearbox [69].

(b) Install the bolts [66] and nuts [67] that attach the u joint assembly [70] to the transmission
assembly [49] and the tee angle gearbox [69].

(5) Apply grease, D00633 to the end of the plunger on the torque trip indicator [48] and push it down
around the sides of the plunger.

(6) Lubricate the transmission assembly [49] and ballscrew assembly [42], do this task: Inboard
Flap Inboard Ballscrew Lubrication, TASK 12-22-51-640-802.

(7) Make sure the torque trip indicator [48] on the transmission assembly [49] is set.

(2) Supply system B hydraulic power, do this task: Hydraulic System A or B Pressurization,

(3) Use the primary system to retract the flaps to the retracted position. To retract the flaps, do this

INBOARD FLAP BALLSCREWS AND GIMBALS - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
1. General
A. This procedure has these tasks:
(1) A removal of the outboard ballscrew and gimbal for the inboard flap
(2) An installation of the outboard ballscrew and gimbal for the inboard flap
(3) A removal of the inboard ballscrew and gimbal for the inboard flap
(4) An installation of the inboard ballscrew and gimbal for the inboard flap.
