SUBTASK 27-58-02-420-001
(1) Install the flap position indicator [1] in the panel:
(a) Connect the electrical connector [2] to the flap position indicator [1].
(b) Put the flap position indicator [1] in its position in the panel.
(c) Tighten the adjustment screw [4] on the clamp [3] to hold the flap position indicator [1].

(2) Remove the safety tags and close these circuit breakers:

(1) Do this task: Supply Electrical Power, TASK 24-22-00-860-811.
SUBTASK 27-58-02-860-004
WARNING: KEEP PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT CLEAR OF THE FLIGHT CONTROL SURFACES, THE
THRUST REVERSERS, AND THE LANDING GEAR. THESE COMPONENTS CAN MOVE
SUDDENLY WHEN YOU SUPPLY HYDRAULIC POWER. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURIES TO
PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(2) Supply system B hydraulic power, do this task: Hydraulic System A or B Pressurization,
TASK 29-11-00-860-801.

(3) If the trailing edge flaps are not in the retracted position, do this task: Trailing Edge Flap
System Operation With Primary Control, TASK 27-51-00-860-801.

(4) Do the test of the flap position indicator [1] in the UP position:
(a) Make sure the pointers on the flap position indicator [1] are in the UP white band.
(b) Make sure the tips of the pointers on the flap position indicator [1] align in the limit of 0.06
inch (1.5 millimeters).

(5) Move the flap control lever to the 40-unit position to extend the flaps.

(6) Do the test of the flap position indicator [1] in the 40-unit position:
(a) Make sure the pointers on the flap position indicator [1] are in the 40-unit white band.
(b) Make sure the tips of the pointers on the flap position indicator [1] align in the limit of 0.06
inch (1.5 millimeters).

(7) Do a test of the separation of the pointers:
(a) Move the ALTN FLAPS ARM switch to the ARM position.
(b) Open this circuit breaker and install safety tag:

(c) Move the flap control lever to the 30-unit position.
NOTE: This will reduce the load on the electric motor.
(d) Move the ALTN FLAP control switch to the UP position and hold it until the right pointer is in
the 30-unit white band on the flap position indicator [].
(e) Make sure the left pointer is in the 40-unit white band.
(f) Remove the safety tag and close this circuit breaker:

(g) Make sure the left pointer moves to the 30-unit white band.
(h) Make sure the tips of the pointers align in the limit of 0.06 inch (1.5 millimeters).
(i) Open this circuit breaker and install safety tag:
