E. Pitch Force Transducer - Manual Test

(1)
Connect the spring scale to the center hub of the captain's control column.

Do the transducer test:
(a)
Engage the autopilot A to the CWS mode.
(b)
Make sure that the CWS ROLL and CWS PITCH indications come on.
NOTE: If you did not adjust the transducers correctly, the

autopilot is not engaged.
(c)
Slowly push the captain's control column. Keep a record of the force which the control column starts to move (between 2.5 to
6.5 pounds).
(d)
Slowly pull the captain's control column. Keep a record of the force that the control column starts to move (betweem 2.5 to
6.5 pounds).
(e)
Make sure that the different between the two forces is less than 2 pounds.
(f)
Slowly push the first officer's control column. Keep a record of the force that the control column starts to move (between
2.5 and 6.0 pounds).
(g)
Slowly pull the first officer's control column. Keep a record of the force that the control column starts to move (between
2.5 and 6.0 pounds).
(h)
Make sure that the difference between the two forces is less than 2 pounds.
(i)
Set the autopilot A to the CMD mode.
(j)
Push the ALT HOLD mode button.
(k)
Do the steps (d) thru (j) again but pull the control column continuously until the ALT HOLD button goes off.
(l)
Make sure that the force that caused the ALT HOLD button goes off is between 18 and 24 pounds.
