Push the line select key (LSK) adjacent to (<INDEX) and make sure the CDU shows INIT REF INDEX 1/1.
(c)
Push the LSK adjacent to (MAINT>) and make sure that the CDU shows MAINT BITE INDEX.
(d)
Push the LSK adjacent to (<DFCS) and make sure that the CDU shows DFCS BITE TEST 1/2.
(e)
Push the NEXT PAGE key and make sure that the CDU shows DFCS BITE TEST 2/2.
(f)
Push the LSK adjacent to (<RIGGING) and make sure that the CDU shows BITE TEST ELEV RIG 50.00.
(g)
Remove hydraulic power as shown on the CDU display.
(h)
Push the LSK adjacent to (<STABILIZER) and make sure that the CDU shows DFCS BITE TEST STAB RIG 54.00.
(i)
As shown on the CDU, close the stabilizer trim circuit breaker.
(j)
Push the LSK adjacent to (<CONTINUE) to show DFCS BITE TEST
54.01.
NOTE: One person must be in the tail with a headset and the

other person in the control cabin.

(2) Do the instruction below as shown on the CDU:
(a) Set the horizontal stabilizer at 3 units of trim equal to the "B" dimension of 41.57 |0.05 inches (AMM 27-41-00/501, Horizontal Stabilizer Trim Control System).

(3) Adjust the stabilizer position sensor
(a)
Move the control column.
(b)
Make sure the trailing edge of the right elevator is in line with the tail cone index |0.06 inches.
(c)
Loosen the screw on the sensor clamp until the sensor can be turned.
(d)
Turn the A sensor housing slowly until you get a value less than 0.5 volts on the CDU.
(e)
Tighten the clamp screw to 8 to 12 pound-inches.
(f)
Remove the lockwire and turn the thumbnut on the microadjustment rod until you get the smallest possible voltage (less than 70mV).
(g)
Do steps (a) through (f) again to adjust the B system sensor.
(h)
Install the lockwire.

Make sure that BITE completes the sensor tests and that ELEV POS test are done without an indication of failure.

Remove electrical power if it is not necessary.
