NOTE:____The X's are a number. The number is the airplane type. The airplane type is 300/400, or 500.

Push the YES key on the keypad.
1) Make sure that the display shows these indications: a) CONFIRM APL type b) 737-XXX
(i)
If the airplane type is correct, push the YES key on the keypad. 1) The display will show STORING CONFIG. 2) Make sure that the display shows TEST PASS.

(8) Do the yaw damper coupler self-test:
(a)
Push the ON/OFF key on the keypad. 1) Make sure that the display shows TURN DISPLAY OFF?
(b)
Push the YES key on the keypad. 1) Make sure that the display momentarily shows DISPLAY OFF.
(c)
After 15 seconds, push the ON/OFF key on the keypad. 1) Make sure that the display shows ENTER BITE?
(d)
Push the YES key on the keypad within ten seconds.
1) Make sure that the A/P warning lights on the autoflight status annunciators (P1 and P3) come on.

Push and release the down arrow key until the display shows GROUND TESTS?

Push the YES key on the keypad. 1) Make sure that the display shows SELF TEST?
(g)
Push the YES key on the keypad.
1) Make sure that the display shows these indications: a) WARNING! WARNING! b) RUDDER MOVEMENT c) RUDDER CLEARED?
(h)
Make sure that all personnel are clear of the rudder.
WARNING:_______THE STEPS THAT FOLLOW CAN CAUSE THE RUDDER TO MOVE. MAKE SURE THAT ALL PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF THE RUDDER BEFORE YOU DO THESE STEPS. RUDDER MOVEMENT CAN CAUSE INJURIES TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(i)
Push the YES key on the keypad. 1) Make sure that the display shows YD ENGA SW ON?
(j)
Set the yaw damper engage switch on the P5 overhead panel to ON. 1) Make sure that the yaw damper disengage warning light on
the P5 overhead panel goes out.
(k)
Push the YES key on the keypad. 1) Make sure that the display shows TEST IN PROGRESS.
NOTE: During the last seconds of the test, TEST IN
____ PROGRESS will flash on the display. The autoflight status annunciators on the P1 and P3 panels will also flash.
(l)
When the self-test is completed, make sure that the display shows TEST PASS.
(m)
Push the ON/OFF key on the keypad. 1) Make sure that the display shows TURN DISPLAY OFF?
(n)
Push the YES key on the keypad. 1) Make sure that the display momentarily shows DISPLAY OFF.

(9) If you will not continue to the yaw damper system test, do these steps:
(a)
Close the Electronic Equipment Access Door, 1201.
(b)
Remove electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).
