Do the preparation steps as shown on the CDU display.

Push the LSK adjacent to <CONTINUE.
(j)
Make sure that the test is completed with no failure.
NOTE: If a failure occurs, the test will stop and the TEST
____ FAILED indication will show on the CDU display.
(k) If a failure occurs, do these steps:
1) From the CDU display, make a note of the channel and the LRU that caused the failure.
NOTE: Before you replace a defective component, do the
____ BITE on the system (if it is applicable) and on the FMS interface subsystems with the defective component.
2) Push the LSK adjacent RERUN> to do the test again. 3) Make sure that the CDU display shows TEST PASSED.
(l) Push the LSK adjacent to <INDEX.

Do the Current Status Quick Test (Group 10) and Altitude Alert Test (Group 15) in this task: "Operational Test - Digital Flight Control System" (Ref 22-11-01/501 or 22-11-00/501).

Push INIT REF key on the CDU keyboard to get out of the BITE.

Remove electrical power if it is not necessary (Ref 24-22-00/201).

DFCS ANNUNCIATOR - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General_______
A. This procedure contains two tasks. The first task is the removal of the DFCS Flight Mode Annunciator (FMA). The second task is the installation of the FMA.
B. You can find the DFCS Flight Mode Annunciator (FMA) on the P1 and P3 panels. The mounting screws on the front and bottom attach the FMA to the shelf. At the rear of the FMA, there are two electrical receptacles which connect to the airplane wiring connectors.

Carefully pull out the FMA until you can get access to the electrical connectors at the rear.
(c)
Disconnect the electrical connectors.
(d)
Remove the FMA.
