C. Prepare for DFCS BITE

(1)
Make sure the BAT switch is in the ON position (Pilots forward overhead panel).

Make sure that the STANDBY POWER switch is in the AUTO position (Pilots forward overhead panel).

Supply electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201, Electrical Power Control).

Put the MASTER DIM and TEST switch, on the P2 center instrument panel, to the TEST position.

Make sure all indicator lamps and annunciator lights on the pilots panel operate correctly.

Make sure that all of the circuit breakers (P6 and P18 circuit breaker panels) for the systems shown below are closed and that the systems operate.

Make sure that the LANDING GEAR LATCH and AIR/GROUND relay circuit breaker (P6 panel) is closed (relay must be in GND position).

Make sure all instrument switches are in the normal position.

Make sure the ground sensing light is off, to show the airplane is in the ground mode. The light is red, and can be found on the E11 shelf, forward of the nose wheel well.

Make sure the indicated airspeed (IAS) is less than 50 knots.

D. Mach Trim Actuator Test
NOTE: DFCS BITE is done with the FMCS CDU.

(1) Do the steps below to do the DFCS BITE test.
(a)
Push the INIT/REF key on the FMCS CDU. Make sure that the CDU shows the POS INIT or PERF INIT page.
(b)
Push the line select key (LSK) adjacent to (<INDEX) and make sure the CDU shows INIT REF INDEX 1/1.
(c)
Push the LSK adjacent to (MAINT>). Make sure the CDU shows MAINT BITE INDEX 1/1.
(d)
Push the LSK adjacent to (<DFCS) and make sure the CDU shows DFCS BITE TEST page 1/2.
(e)
Push the NEXT PAGE key and make sure the CDU shows DFCS BITE TEST page 2/2.
(f)
Push the LSK adjacent to (<RIGGING) and make sure the CDU shows DFCS BITE TEST RIGGING -A/-B 50.00.
(g)
Push the LSK adjacent to (MACH TRIM>) and make sure the CDU shows DFCS BITE TEST MACH TRIM RIG 57.00.
(h)
Push the LSK adjacent to (<CHANNEL) for the selection of mach trim rigging for channel A.
