E. Procedure
S 024-007
(1) Remove the autothrottle power lever angle synchro:
(a) Install a 0.25-inch rig pin in the part power rig hole R of the MEC fuel control box (Fig. 401).
NOTE: You can move the power lever back and forward if it is

necessary.
(b)
Remove the two bolts and two plates above the synchro flange.
(c)
Collect all the removed parts and keep them in a safe location.
(d)
Remove the PLA synchro.
NOTE: Do not remove the rig pin.

NOTE: Rig pin F70207-23 or MS20392-3C pin (optional), or
____ equivalent 0.248 (+0.000/-0.002)-inch diameter 3-inch long rod or bolt.

D. Prepare for the installation

(1) Do these tasks to prepare for the autothrottle PLA installation:
(a) Open these circuit breakers on the P18-1 load control center: 1) AUTO THROTTLE AC

2) AUTO THROTTLE DC
(b)
Set the thrust lever approximately 20 degrees angle to install the rig pin in part power rig hole R.
(c)
Install the DO-NOT-OPERATE identifier.
(d)
Open the left (right) fan cowl panel on the applicable engine (Ref 71-11-02/201).
(e)
Disconnect the electrical connector from the synchro.
E. Procedure
S 424-008
(1) Install the autothrottle power lever angle synchro
(a) Align the index mark (engraved bar) on the synchro gear with the flange index mark on the PLA synchro.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE YOU ENGAGE THE PLA SYNCHRO GEAR WITH THE GEAR IN

THE CONTROL BOX CORRECTLY.
(b) Attach the PLA synchro to the control box.
NOTE: Make sure you align the flange index mark with the rigging
____
mark on the control box.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE YOU THEN TIGHTEN THE PLATE BOLTS TO PREVENT

DAMAGE TO THE PLA SYNCHRO GEAR SHAFT.
(c)
Attach the plates with the two bolts.
(d)
Align and connect the electrical connector.
(e)
Install the wire bundle clamp on the wire bundle.

(2) Adjust the PLA synchro (Ref 22-31-11/501).
F. Put the Airplane Back to Its Initial condition

Install the left and right fan cowl panel (Ref 71-11-02/201).

Close these circuit breakers on the P18-1 load control center:
(a)
AUTO THROTTLE AC
(b)
AUTO THROTTLE DC
