D. Lamp Replacement

CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT YOU REMOVE ELECTRICAL POWER TO THE MCP BEFORE
_______ YOU REPLACE THE LAMP. A FAILURE TO REMOVE ELECTRICAL POWER TO THE MCP CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE LAMP DRIVER CIRCUITS OF THE MCP.
(1) Open these circuit breakers to remove electrical power to the MCP:
(a) P18-1 Circuit Breaker Panel
1) AFDS MCP DC
2) AFCS ENGAGE INTLK A

(b) P6-2 Circuit Breaker Panel

2) AFCS ENGAGE INTLK B

(2) AIRPLANES WITH HONEYWELL P/N 4051601-937 THRU 4051601-940 MCP; F/D ON Indicator Lamp Replacement:
(a)
Remove the lens assembly with a small screwdriver.
(b)
Replace the defective lamp with a new lamp.
(c)
Install the lens assembly.

(3) AIRPLANES WITH HONEYWELL P/N 4051601-93X PRE MOD G MCP; Replace the Pushbutton Switch-Light Lamp:
CAUTION: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE THE LAMP REPLACEMENT TOOL TO
_______ REPLACE THE LAMP. THE LAMP REPLACEMENT TOOL CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE EDGELIGHT PANEL.
(a) Put the small flat blade of the lamp replacement tool into the slot on the top or bottom of the switch lens cap. Open the hinged lens cap.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT YOU INSTALL THE CORRECT LAMP FOR THE
_______ SWITCH. INSTALLATION OF AN INCORRECT LAMP CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE LAMP DRIVER CIRCUITS.
(b)
Remove the defective lamp with the lamp replacement tool from the slot in the switch assembly.
(c)
Replace the lamp with a correct type (No. 6839, 28 volt).
(d)
Close the hinged lens cap for the switch.

(4) Close these circuit breakers:
(a)
P18-1 Circuit Breaker Panel
1) AFDS MCP DC
2) AFCS ENGAGE INTLK A
3) AUTOTHROTTLE
(b)
P6-2 Circuit Breaker Panel
(c)
AFDS MCP CRS 2 DC
1) AFCS ENGAGE INTLK B

(5) Do the BITE test for the replaced lamp:
(a)
Do the preparation for the DFCS BITE test in this task: "Operational Test - Digital Flight Control System" (Ref 22-11-01/501 or 22-11-00/501).
(b)
Push the INIT REF key on the FMCS CDU.
(c)
Push the line-select key (LSK) adjacent to <INDEX.
(d)
Push the LSK adjacent to MAINT>.

Push the LSK adjacent to <DFCS.
(f)
Push the NEXT PAGE key on the CDU.
(g)
Push the LSK adjacent to <GROUND FUNCTIONAL.
NOTE: The CDU display will show TEST IN PROGRESS during the
____ 13-second cross-channel test.
(h)
Follow the CDU instruction until the CHANNEL SELECTION page is shown on the CDU display.
(i)
Push the LSK adjacent to <CHANNEL A AND B.
(j)
Push the LSK adjacent to <TEST SELECTION.
(k)
Use the CDU keyboard to put the library No. 50 into the CDU scratchpad.
(l)
Push the LSK adjacent to ENTER>.
(m)
Push the LSK adjacent to <EXECUTE to do the test 60.50 (MCP PUSHBUTTON).
(n)
Make sure that all the switches operate correctly.
(o)
Push the INIT REF on the CDU keyboard to get out of the BITE.

Remove hydraulic power if it is not necessary (Ref 29-15-00/201).

Remove electrical power if it is not necessary (Ref 24-22-00/201).
