 (2)  Put the alternate flap drive switch in the UP position. When the flap drive stops at the full up position, set the flap drive switch to the OFF position.

 (3)  At the number 4 and 5 jackscrews, make sure that the upstop on the ball screw nut is 1-3/4 to 2-1/4 turns from the upstop on the ball screw yoke. In this position the length of dimension X as shown in Fig. 502 must be between 0.87 to 1.03 inches. If you do not get this dimension, adjust the flap up limit switch (AMM 27-51-87) before you adjust the mach trim flap switch.

 (4)  Measure and write down this dimension X and identify it with the label X1.

Put the alternate flap switch to the DOWN position for several turns of the jackscrew.

Put the alternate flap drive switch to the UP position. Release the switch to stop the flaps to make sure dimension X will equal X1 plus


 0.10 |0.05 inch. You must move the flaps in the up direction to get this dimension.

 (7)  Adjust the retaining nuts on the mach trim flap switch to move the switch body as near as you can to the actuating cam. Then adjust the retaining nuts to move the switch away from the actuating cam until the switch operates (audible click).
 NOTE: Carefully preposition the switch to make sure that the
____ operation occurs when the switch body moves away from the cam.

Replace the switch cover on the flap control unit.
