(a)
Set the thrust levers to idle.
(b)
Set the flaps to 0 units.
(c)
Put the airplane in the ground mode.
NOTE: You must close these circuit breakers when "SET
____ SQUAT TO ON GND" is shown on the CDU :
-LANDING GEAR AIR/GND RELAY & LIGHTS (P6-2 panel)
-AFC AFDS MCP DC (P18-1 panel)
(d)
Engage the autothrottle system.
CAUTION:_______THE THRUST LEVERS WILL MOVE DURING THIS TEST. MAKE SURE ALL PERSONNEL AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF THE CABLE AND THE MEC BOX AREA OF THE ENGINE.
(e)
Push LSK 6R (CONTINUE>) to go to the TEST IN PROGRESS display.
NOTE: The A/T will do a self-test for approximately 30
____ seconds. If a failure occurs, the LRU that caused failure will be shown on the CDU after the test.
(f)
Monitor the throttle movement during the test.
(g)
Make sure the A/T engage switch goes back to OFF at the end of the test automatically.
(h)
AIRPLANES WITH A/T COMPUTER P/N 10-62017-21 ONLY; Do these steps shown on the CDU: 1) Set the two throttle levers to their forward stops. 2) Wait for at least 3 seconds 3) Push the LSK 6R (CONTINUE>) 4) Set the two throttle levers to idle 5) Wait for at least 3 seconds 6) Push the LSK 6R (CONTINUE>)
NOTE: AIRPLANES WITH A/T COMPUTER P/N 10-62017-25 AND
____ SUBSEQUENT; The above steps are not shown on the CDU.
(i) Make sure that CDU shows "NO FAULTS".

(3) Put the airplane back to its initial condition.

3. System Test - Autothrottle System_________________________________
A. General
(1) This test gives a complete check of the A/T system and it includes:
(a)
A/T BITE Current Status (Operational Test)
(b)
A/T BITE Interactive Tests: 1) FMA/ADI or FMA/ADI/EFIS (or FMA/EFIS) tests 2) Input Discretes tests 3) Disengage/Warnings tests 4) Cycle Time Monitor/Power On Reset (CTM/POR) tests 5) AIRPLANES WITH A/T COMPUTER P/N 10-62017-11 AND SUBSEQUENT;
Throttle Split tests
(c)
AIRPLANES WITH A/T COMPUTER P/N 10-62017-11 AND SUBSEQUENT; A/T BITE Engines/Ratings Tests are added
(d)
AIRPLANES WITH DUAL FMC;
Dual FMC Switching Interface Test
