(1) Install the MCP:
(a)
Connect the electrical connector at the rear of the MCP.
(b)
Push the MCP in its position.
(c)
Install the four mounting screws on the front and bottom of the MCP.

(2) Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags and close these circuit breakers:
(a)
P18-1 Circuit Breaker Panel
1) AFDS MCP DC
2) AFCS ENGAGE INTLK A
3) AUTOTHROTTLE DC
(b)
P6-2 Circuit Breaker Panel
1) AFDS MCP CRS 2 DC
2) AFCS ENGAGE INTLK B

DFCS MODE CONTROL PANEL - ADJUSTMENT/TEST

1. General_______
A. This procedure contains the installation test of the DFCS Mode Control Panel (MCP).
B. The DFCS Built-In Test Equipment (BITE) is used to do the operational test after the installation of the DFCS Mode Control Panel (MCP). It makes sure that the MCP operates correctly. It uses no external equipment. The airplane electrical and hydraulic systems are the only power sources necessary for this task.

(1) Prepare for the DFCS Mode Control Panel BITE Test:
(a)
Make sure that the BAT switch on the Pilots' Forward Overhead Panel (P5) is in the ON position.
(b)
Set the STANDBY POWER switch on the Pilots' Forward Overhead Panel (P5) to the AUTO position.
(c)
Align the IRS (AMM 34-28-00/201 or 34-28-01/201).
(d)
Make sure that all the instrument switches (P5) are in the NORMAL position.
(e)
Make sure that the airplane is in the ground mode.

NOTE: The GROUND SENSING light is off to show the airplane is
____ in ground mode. You can find the GROUND SENSING light on the E11 shelf, forward of the nose wheel well.
(f)
Make sure that the autopilot is disengaged.
(g)
Make sure that the IRS ground speed is less than 20 knots or the FMC ground speed is less than 20 knots.

(2) Do the MCP Interface Test:
(a)
Push the INIT REF key on the FMCS CDU.
(b)
Push the line-select key (LSK) adjacent to <INDEX.
