(1) Set the ailerons and aileron trim to 0 units.
D. Install the Aileron Position Sensor

Align the index marks on the sensor housing and the sensor shaft.

Install the sensor in the clamp and the crank with the index mark aligned with the slot in the crank.

CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE AUTOPILOT AILERON POSITION ROD IS INSTALLED
_______ CORRECTLY, AS SHOWN IN FIG. 401. INCORRECT POSITION CAN CAUSE AN AUTOPILOT COMMANDED TURN, UPON THE AUTOPILOT ENGAGEMENT.

Tighten the screw in the crank and the sensor clamp to permit the sensor to be turned when you adjust it.

(AMM 22-11-29/501).

Install the tire burst protection screens (if removed).

AILERON POSITION SENSOR - ADJUSTMENT/TEST

1. General_______
A. This procedure contains four tasks. The first two tasks do the aileron position sensor adjustment. Only one of the tasks is necessary. These tasks use:

F80217-125 Test Set
(2)
DFCS BITE
B. The other two tasks do a test of the aileron position sensor. They are:
(1)
BITE Test.
(2)
Manual Test.
C. The aileron position sensor is installed on the left aileron torque tube. You will find it on the forward wall of the main wheel well, adjacent to the autopilot actuators (27-11-00/201 Aileron and Aileron Trim Control).
D. The autopilot system and all aileron rigging must be fully adjusted before the actuator can be adjusted (Ref 27-11-00/501 Aileron and Aileron Trim Control). The tire burst protection screens must be folded out of the way (if installed).
