Make sure all instrument switches are in the normal position.

Make sure the ground sensing light is on, to show the airplane is in the ground mode. The light is red, and can be found on the E11 shelf, forward of the nose wheel well.

Make sure the indicated airspeed (IAS) is less than 50 knots.

Make sure that each IRS is aligned and in the NAV mode of operation.

C. Mach Trim Actuator System BITE Test

(1) Do the steps below to do the BITE test:
(a)
Push the INIT/REF key on the FMCS CDU. Make sure that the CDU shows the POS INIT or PERF INIT page.
(b)
Push the line select key (LSK) adjacent to (<INDEX) and make sure the CDU shows INIT REF INDEX 1/1.
(c)
Push the LSK adjacent to (MAINT>) and make sure the CDU shows MAINT BITE INDEX 1/1.
(d)
Push the LSK adjacent to (<CURRENT STATUS) and make sure that the CDU shows the DFCS BITE test page 1/2.
(e)
Push the LSK adjacent to (<CURRENT STATUS) and make sure the CDU shows the DFCS BITE TEST CURRENT STATUS CHAN A/B page.
NOTE: This page gives initialization steps for the DFCS quick
____ tests. These instructions have been done in step A and it is not necessary to do them again.
(f) Push the LSK adjacent to (<CONTINUE) and make sure that the CDU shows DFCS BITE TEST CHAN Z 10.YY.
NOTE: You will see TEST IN PROGRESS on the CDU while the test
____
continues.
(g)
Make sure that at the end of the DFCS quick test the CDU display changes to: DFCS BITE TEST SUMMARY -A/-B 11.14 *QUICK TEST PASS*
(h)
AIRPLANES WITH -911 FCC INSTALLED; Do these steps: 1) Do the steps, shown below, on the CDU display.
a) Open the STAB TRIM circuit breaker on the P18-0 circuit breaker panel.
