RUDDER SOLENOID AND TRANSFER VALVES - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General_______
A. This procedure contains two tasks. The first task is for the removal of the rudder transfer valve from the rudder power control unit (PCU). The second task is for the installation of the rudder transfer valve on the rudder PCU.
B. You can find the rudder PCU in the lower area of the vertical fin. The solenoid valve and the transfer valve are on the aft end of the rudder PCU.

Remove the TE access panels at the lower area of the vertical stabilizer (AMM 12-31-51/201).

Remove the rudder solenoid valve or transfer valve:
(a)
Remove the lockwire from the mounting bolts (AMM 20-10-44/401).
(b)
Remove the mounting bolts.
(c)
Remove the valve.
