D. Prepare for DFCS BITE

Supply electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).

Make sure that the BAT switch (pilots forward overhead panel) is in the ON position.

Make sure that the STANDBY POWER switch is in the AUTO position.

Put the MASTER DIM and TEST switch, on the P2 center instrument panel, to the TEST position.

Make sure all indicator lamps and annunciator lights on the pilots panel operate correctly.

Make sure that the circuit breakers (on the P6 and P18 circuit breaker panels) for the systems shown below are closed and that the systems will operate.

NOTE: Make sure that you close the AFCS A FCC DC and AFCS B

(9) Remove access panel 3802 on the tail cone (AMM 12-31-41/201).
E. DFCS BITE Test

(1) Do the steps below to do the BITE test.
(a)
Push the INIT/REF key on the FMCS CDU. Make sure that the CDU shows POS INIT page or PERF INIT page.
(b)
Push the line select key (LSK) adjacent to (<INDEX) and make sure the CDU shows INIT REF INDEX 1/1.
(c)
Push the LSK adjacent to (MAINT>) and make sure that the CDU shows MAINT BITE INDEX.
(d)
Push the LSK adjacent to (<DFCS) and make sure that the CDU shows DFCS BITE TEST 1/2.
(e)
Push the NEXT PAGE key and make sure that the CDU shows DFCS BITE TEST 2/2.
(f)
Push the LSK adjacent to (<RIGGING) and make sure that the CDU shows BITE TEST ELEV RIG 50.00.
(g)
Remove hydraulic power as shown on the CDU display.
(h)
Push the LSK adjacent to (<ELEVATOR) and make sure that the CDU shows DFCS BITE TEST ELEV RIG 51.00.
WARNING: MAKE SURE PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF THE CONTROL
_______ COLUMN WHILE THE TEST CONTINUES. THE CONTROL COLUMN CAN MOVE WHICH CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS.
(i) Push the LSK adjacent to (<ELEV RIG) to show DFCS BITE TEST *SURFACE TEST*
