C. DFCS Flight Mode Annunciator
S 424-001
(1) Install the FMA:
(a)
Connect the electrical connectors at the rear of the FMA.
(b)
Push the FMA in its position.
(c)
Install the mounting screws.

(2) Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags and close these circuit breakers:

DFCS ANNUNCIATOR - ADJUSTMENT/TEST

1. General
_______
A. This procedure contains the installation test of the DFCS Flight Mode Annunciator (FMA).
B. The DFCS Built-In Test Equipment (BITE) is used to do the operational test after the installation of the DFCS Flight Mode Annunciator (FMA). This test makes sure that the FMA operates correctly. It uses no external equipment. The airplane electrical and hydraulic systems are the only power sources necessary for this task.

Do the preparation for the DFCS BITE test in this task: "Operational Test - Digital Flight Control System" (Ref 22-11-00/501).

Do the FMA interface test:
(a)
Push the INIT REF key on the CDU keyboard.
(b)
Push the line-select key (LSK) adjacent to <MAINT.
(c)
Push the LSK adjacent to <DFCS.
(d)
Push the LSK adjacent to <LRU INTERFACE.
(e)
Push the LSK adjacent to <CHANNEL A or <CHANNEL B.
(f)
Push the NEXT PAGE key on the CDU keyboard.
(g)
Push the LSK adjacent to <FMA.
(h)
Do the preparation steps as shown on the CDU display.
(i)
Follow the CDU instructions and push the LSK adjacent to <CONTINUE until the test is completed with no failure.
(j)
If a failure occurs, do these steps: 1) From the CDU display, make a note of the channel and the
LRU that caused the failure. 2) Replace the defective component.
