(1)
Set CAPT's and F/O's VOR-ILS/INS switches to INS position.

Set INS transfer switch on captain's instrument panel to CAPT 1 F/O 2 position.
(3)
Verify that on both captain's and first officer's HSI:
(a)
INS/VOR-ILS annunciator reads INS.
(b)
Data source annunciators read 1 and 2 respectively.
(4)
Set INS No. 1 CDU WPT switch to any position except 0.
(5)
Set INS No. 1 CDU data selector to TEST. Observe the following indications on captain's HSI:
(a)
HEADING and navigation (striped) flags are out of view.
(b)
TRUE/MAG annunciator reads TRUE.
(c)
11.2 degrees on azimuth card is positioned under lubber line.
(d)
Drift angle bug is positioned at 11.2 degrees on azimuth card.
(e)
Course pointer is positioned at 59.5 degrees on azimuth card.
(f)
Course deviation bar is positioned one dot to left of center.

H. Restore Airplane to Normal
(1) Set each INS mode selector switch to OFF position.
CAUTION: FAILURE TO MOVE MODE SELECTOR TO OFF WILL CAUSE INS TO
_______ AUTOMATICALLY SWITCH TO BATTERY POWER AND A WARNING HORN IN NOSE WHEEL WELL TO ACTUATE 30 (| 10) SECONDS AFTER POWER IS REMOVED FROM AIRPLANE.

Remove electrical power if no longer required. Refer to 24-22-00.
(3)
Remove equipment cooling if no longer required. Refer to 21-58-00.
