The R/T unit will generate the RF pulses for transmission and send them to the antenna through the waveguide. The reflected RF is returned to the R/T for processing.
(3)
The video signal received by the radar receiver is digitized and fowarded to the navigation displays in binary format.
(4)
In the WX mode, normal weather returns are displayed in green, yellow and red at all ranges.
(5)
AF 160, 162-171; In the WX+T mode, normal weather returns are displayed in green, yellow and red at all ranges with the turbulence returns within 50 miles displayed in magenta.
(6)
AF 160, 162-171; In the SCH mode, normal weather returns are displayed in green, yellow and red at all ranges. Higher rainfall intensity than red returns with 20 or 40 mile ranges selected are displayed in magenta.
(7)
In the MAP mode, prominent terrain features are displayed in green, yellow and red.

(a)
The weather radar indicators and receiver/transmitters receive single-phase, 400-Hz, 115-volt ac power through circuit breakers on circuit breaker panel P7. The antenna receives 115-volt ac power from the R/T selected.
(b)
Closing the R/T 1 circuit breaker sends a 28-volt dc interlock power signal from R/T No. 1 keep alive power supply to the control panel SYS transfer switch. With the SYS transfer switch in position 1 the 28-volt dc signal goes through the waveguide switch to R/T No. 1 switch S1. The 28-volt dc signal goes through relay to R/T 1 switch S1 that controls the operation of R/T relay K1. When the captain's or first officer's indicator PWR switch is depressed a ground signal is supplied through R/T No. 1 or No. 2 switch S1 to energize the K1 relay. These indicator signals are ON/OFF 1 from the indicators to R/T 1 and ON/OFF 2 from the indicators to R/T 2. Energized R/T No. 1 relay K1 sends 28-volt dc operating power to the control panel and 115-volt ac switched power to antenna system No. 1 circuits and to R/T No. 1. When R/T No.1 is selected on the control panel, a discrete ground is sent to R/T No. 2 to prevent transmission.
(c)
When the No. 2 weather radar system is selected with the SYS transfer switch in the 2 position, the 28-volt dc interlock power to the R/T No. 1 is removed and a ground is applied to prevent transmission.
