E. On airplanes with RCA AVQ-30X weather radar,
perform the following:
(1) On airplanes with extractors, rotate extractor thumbscrews CW to seat unit.
CAUTION: ASSURE THAT ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS, WAVEGUIDE FLANGES, AND
_______ INDEX PINS ARE PROPERLY ALIGNED OR DAMAGE WILL RESULT TO EQUIPMENT.
(2) On airplanes without extractors, position R/T on R/T mount and carefully push unit toward R/T mount mating connector until connectors mate.
CAUTION: ASSURE THAT ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS, WAVEGUIDE FLANGES, AND
_______ INDEX PINS ARE PROPERLY ALIGNED OR DAMAGE WILL RESULT TO EQUIPMENT.
(3) Tighten holddown clamps to secure R/T to R/T mount.
F. On airplanes with Bendix RDR-1F weather radar,
perform the following:

(1) Place R/T on mounting tray with bottom edge of front panel in slot provided on extractor mechanism. Use of weather radar receiver-transmitter dolly, ME65B40706, is optional.
NOTE: See the removal instructions for guidance on when to use the

the receiver/transmitter dolly.
(2) Rotate extractor thumbscrew CW to seat unit.
CAUTION: ASSURE THAT ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS, WAVEGUIDE FLANGES, AND
_______ INDEX PINS ARE PROPERLY ALIGNED OR DAMAGE WILL RESULT TO EQUIPMENT.
(3) Tighten holddown clamps to secure R/T to R/T mount.
G. On airplanes with Collins WXR-700X or Bendix RDR-4A weather radar, perform the following:
(1)
Slide R/T into shockmount and carefully push it completely to the rear engaging the guide pins and mating connectors.
(2)
Engage R/T holddown hooks with R/T mount holddown clamps and tighten clamps to secure R/T to R/T mount.
H. On Freighter Airplanes, Install the floor compartment panels.
I. Remove circuit breaker do-not-operate identifiers and close WEA RDR RT/1 and WEA RDR RT/2 circuit breakers on overhead panel P7.
J. Perform a weather radar system operational test for the following weather radar.

Bendix RDR-1F weather radar (Ref 34-43-00 CONFIG 1)
(2)
RCA AVQ-30X weather radar (Ref 34-43-00 CONFIG 2)
(3)
Bendix RDR-4A weather radar (Ref 34-43-00 CONFIG 3)
(4)
Collins WXR-700X weather radar (Ref 34-43-00 CONFIG 4)
K. On airplanes with RCA AVQ-30X weather radar, perform Weather Radar VSWR Test (Ref 34-43-04,page 501)

WEATHER RADAR ANTENNA - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

3. Prepare for Removal___________________
A. Open WEA RAD R/T 1 and 2 circuit breakers on overhead circuit breaker panel P7 and tag circuit breakers with do-not-operate identifiers.
B. Open nose radome (Fig. 401). Radome must be secured properly in open position.
(1) Unlatch nose radome by inserting a 5/16-inch Allen wrench into each of the six radome latches one at a time, depressing the wrench, and turning the wrench counterclockwise to release latch hook.
CAUTION:_______ WRENCH MUST NOT BE INSERTED INTO LATCH PERPENDICULAR TO AIRPLANE SKIN; IT MUST SLANT AWAY (AFT) FROM NOSE OF AIRPLANE (FIG. 401). DO NOT USE A HAMMER OR IN ANY WAY FORCE WRENCH INTO LATCH. MAKE SURE WRENCH IS INSERTED COMPLETELY INTO LATCH BEFORE TURNING OR DAMAGE TO LATCH WILL RESULT.
WHEN REPLACING WEATHER RADAR ANTENNA, USE CARE TO PREVENT WORKSTANDS OR EQUIPMENT FROM STRIKING LOCALIZER ANTENNA. DO NOT USE LOCALIZER ANTENNA AS A FOOTREST OR SUPPORT.
C. Pull radome slightly forward, then swing fully open to the LH side of airplane until door rests against rubber bumpers. Secure door with quick-release pins located near bumpers.
4. Remove Weather Radar Antenna (Fig. 402)____________________________
A. Ensure weather radar system circuit breakers are opened and tagged with do-not-operate identifiers.
B. Disconnect electrical connectors on rear of antenna.
C. Remove waveguide from antenna by pressing quick-disconnect spring clamp.
CAUTION: DO NOT LOOSEN THE BOLTS ON THE SUPPORT ASSEMBLY OR THE
_______ MOUNT ASSEMBLY DURING THE REMOVAL OF THE ANTENNA . THESE ARE ALIGNED AT THE FACTORY. IF THE MOUNT IS LOOSE OR NOT ALIGNED IN PITCH AND ROLL, DO THE WXR ANTENNA MOUNT MAINTENANCE PRACTICE IN 34-43-19/201. IF THE MOUNT IS NOT ALIGNED IN AZIMUTH OR THERE IS STRUCTURE DAMAGE TO THE RADOME SUPPORT STRUCTURE, HAVE A BOEING AOG TEAM DO A SPECIAL PROCEDURE. TELL THE BOEING SEATTLE AOG OFFICE.
