 7)  Set data selector on each control/display unit to DSRTK/STS position and check that right-hand data displays are 0---95.
 8)  Momentarily press each CDU TEST switch. While switches are depressed, check that: a) HOLD, REMOTE, INSERT and WY PT CHG keys plus ALERT,
 BAT and WARN annunciators illuminate on each CDU. b) BAT and READY NAV annunciators on each MSU illuminate. c) All three data display indicators on each CDU are
 showing all eights.
 (d)  Test battery operation warning system.
 1)  Open two 115-volt ac power circuit breakers to the INS being tested (PWR-INS 1 for system 1, PWR-INS 2 for system 2 or PWR-INS 3 for system 3). Observe that BAT light on appropriate CDU illuminates and nose wheel well call horn sounds a warning 30 (| 10) seconds after circuit breakers open.
 2)  Close two circuit breakers opened in step 1) and verify that warning alarm ceases. 3) Repeat battery warning system test for remaining INS systems.
 (e)  Test INS Battery Transfer Relay 1) Set mode selector switch on each MSU on pilots' overhead
 panel P5 to OFF position. 2) Open circuit breaker on front of INS No. 1 battery unit. 3) Set STANDBY POWER switch on flight engineer's panel P4 to
 the ON position. 4) Set INS BAT PARALLEL switch on flight engineer's panel P4
 to NORMAL position. 5) Set INS No. 1 mode selector switch to STBY. 6) Verify that INS No. 1 CDU annunciators and digital
 displays do not illuminate. 7) Set INS BAT PARALLEL switch to ON. 8) Verify that on INS No. 1 CDU: INSERT key illuminates and
 FROM/TO display illuminates. 9) Return INS No. 1 mode selector switch to OFF. 10) Return INS BAT PARALLEL switch to NORMAL. 11) Return STANDBY POWER switch to OFF. 12) Close circuit breaker on front of INS No. 1 battery unit.
 (f)  
Test INS navigation unit battery charger.

 1)  Perform INS battery charger test on each of the inertial navigation systems. Refer to 34-41-03, INS Navigation Unit - Adjustment/Test (Battery Charger Test).

 (g)  
If INS is no longer required, restore airplane to normal.


 (2)  Test INS Power Transfer Relay (ATLAS ALL EXCEPT LH 011-030, 051-070, 082-099; AT 701-750; AZ 221-299).
 (a)  
If required, prepare for test as described in par. D.

 (b)  
Set ATT/COMP STAB switch on the captain's main instrument panel to CAPT 1 - F/O 2 position.

 (c)  Set mode selector switch on INS No. 3 MSU to STBY position. Check that: 1) Red, amber and green lamps do not illuminate on CDU and
 MSU No. 3.
 NOTE: Some lights, including the red WARN light and green
____ READY NAV light, may flash briefly at turn-on.
 2)  CDU INSERT key is illuminated.
 3)  On airplanes with Delco CIVA-20 or CIV-31N INS, numerals 1 2 appear in FROM-TO display. On airplanes with Delco CIVA-25, CIVA-28A, CIVA-28A-2 or 32C INS, numerals 0 1 appear in FROM-TO display.
 (d)  
Set data selector on control/display unit No. 3 to DSRTK/STS position and check that right-hand data display is 0---95.

 (e)  
LH 001-010, 071-080; AF 101-116; AZ 201-211; SN ALL; IB 405; open both PWR-INS 3 circuit breakers on panel P7. LH 011-030, 051-070, 081-099; AF 121, 122, 151-199; AZ 221-299; MD 501-599; GN 601-699; AT 701-750; VM 751-799; open both PWR-INS 3 circuit breakers on panel P126.


 NOTE: If these circuit breakers remain open longer than 30 |10
____ seconds, a warning horn in the nose wheel well will sound.
 1)  Verify that BAT annunciator illuminates on CDU No. 3.
 (f)  
Set ATT/COMP STAB switch to CAPT 1 F/O 3 position and verify that BAT annunciator on CDU No. 3 extinguishes.

 NOTE:____Perform the next three steps quickly. If INS No. 3 is without ac power for longer than 30 (| 10) seconds, a warning horn in the nose wheel well will sound.

 (g)  
Open both PWR-ALT INS 3 circuit breakers and verify that BAT annunciator illuminates on CDU No. 3.

 (h)  
Close both PWR-INS 3 circuit breakers and verify that No. 3 INS CDU BAT light remains on.

 (i)  
Set ATT/COMP STAB switch to CAPT 1 F/O 2 and verify that No. 3 INS CDU BAT light goes out.

 (j)  
Close both PWR-ALT INS 3 circuit breakers.

 (k)  
If INS is no longer required, restore airplane to normal.
