Place MSU mode selector in STBY. Place the CDU data selector to DSR TK/STS and the AUTO/MAN/RMT switch to MAN. Note turn on time and check that:
(1)
WARN lamp remains out

(2)
Left, right and FROM/TO displays illuminate

(3)
FROM/TO display shows 00

(4)
CDU right-hand data display shows status 90 IF -

Set data selector switch to TEST position. Verify that mode selector switch is in ALIGN position. Set AUTO/MAN/RMT switch to each of its three positions - Check HSI and CDU displays are as follows:
(1)  
Left and right numerical displays are degree signs, decimal points, arc-minute signs, NS, EW, and all eights, except left digit of right numerical display is R. From/To display is all eights and ALERT, BATT, and WARN annun-ciators and TK CHG, INSERT, and HOLD indicators are on.
