 D. Test Attitude Director Indicator
 NOTE: This procedure uses INS No. 3 attitude outputs to test both the
____
 captain's and first officer's ADI's.

 (1)  
On airplanes with Delco INS, set INS No. 3 mode selector switch (pilot's overhead panel P5) to ALIGN.

 (2)  
On airplanes with Delco INS, set INS No. 3 control/display unit data selector to DSRTK/STS and allow INS to align until actual PI number goes from 9 to 7.


 NOTE: The PI number is located in position X on right-hand
____ control/display unit data display (OYY-X5).
 (3)  
On airplanes with Litton INS, set MSU No. 3 mode selector switch to ATT REF and allow INS to warm up for 3 minutes.

 (4)  
Test captain's ADI.


 (a)  On ATLAS ALL EXCEPT AT 701-750, set ATT/COMP STAB switch to CAPT 3 F/O 2 position. On AT 701-750, set ATTITUDE switch to CAPT 3. Verify that captain's ADI indicates 0-degree pitch and roll and that attitude flag is out of view.

 (b)  
Press test button on Captain's ADI. Verify that ADI displays 10 |5 degrees pitch up and 20 |5 degrees roll right indication and that attitude flag comes in view.

 (c)  
Release test button. Verify that ADI returns to 0-degree pitch and roll and that attitude flag disappears from view.


 (5)  
Test first officer's ADI.

 (a)  
On ATLAS ALL EXCEPT AT 701-750, set ATT/COMP STAB switch to CAPT 1 F/O 3 position. On AT 701-750, set ATTITUDE switch to F/O 3. Verify that first officer's ADI indicates 0-degree pitch and roll and that attitude flag is out of view.

 (b)  
Press test button on first officer's ADI. Verify that ADI displays 10 |5 degrees pitch up and 20 |5 degrees roll right indication and that attitude flag comes in view.

 (c)  
Release test button. Verify that ADI returns to 0-degree pitch and roll and that attitude flag disappears from view.

 

 (6)  
On ATLAS ALL EXCEPT AT 701-750, return ATT/COMP STAB switch on captain's panel to CAPT-1 F/O 2 position. On AT 701-750, return ATTITUDE switch on captain's panel to NORM.


 E. Restore Airplane to Normal
 (1)  Set each INS mode selector switch to OFF position.
 CAUTION: FAILURE TO MOVE MODE SELECTOR TO OFF WILL CAUSE INS TO
_______ AUTOMATICALLY SWITCH TO BATTERY POWER AND A WARNING HORN IN NOSE WHEEL WELL TO ACTUATE 30 (| 10) SECONDS AFTER POWER IS REMOVED FROM AIRPLANE.
 (2)  
Remove electrical power if no longer required. Refer to 24-22-00.

 (3)  
Remove equipment cooling if no longer required. Refer to 21-58-00.

 HORIZONTAL SITUATION INDICATOR - SERVICING (RELAMPING)

 1.  General
_______
 A.  Two horizontal situation indicators are installed in the airplane, one on each pilot's instrument panel.
 B.  The two numeric display indicators on the HSI may be replaced while the INS is operating, without affecting the system alignment or operation.
 2.  Equipment and Materials
_______________________
 A.  Miles Display - Collins P/N 262-0441-010 or Tung-Sol P/N A41066
 B.  Ground Speed Display - Collins P/N 262-0441-030 or Tung-Sol P/N DT1648A
 3.  Removal/Installation of Data Display Lamp Module (Fig. 301)
________________________________________________
 A.  Remove
 (1)  
Remove screws holding bezel and readout plate.

 (2)  
Pull data display from socket.

 (3)  
Remove screws holding defective data display lamp module.

 (4)  
Remove defective data display lamp module.


 B.  Install
 (1)  
Insert new data display lamp module and secure with screws.

 (2)  
Insert data display in socket.

 (3)  
Install and secure indicator bezel and readout plates.

 (4)  
After relamping HSI, test data displays by performing HSI test. (Refer to 34-41-06, Horizontal Situation Indicator -Adjustment/Test.)
