Push the RGT display switch on each indicator.
1) Make sure a right view shows with the source at the bottom left on each indicator.
(d)
Push the FWD display switch on each indicator. 1) Make sure that the radar targets on each indicator goes to a forward view.
2) Make sure the source is at the bottom center of each indicator.
(e)
Set the SYS switch on the WXR control panel to the 2 position.
(f)
Do the Indicator Offset Display Test for system 2.
(g)
Set the SYS switch on the WXR control panel to the 1 position.
(h)
If no more tests of weather radar are necessary; Do the Weather Radar System Shutdown Task.
I. Master/Slave Display Test
(1) Do the weather radar master/slave display test.
(a) Set the MODE select switch to WX on the WXR control panel.
WARNING: DO NOT OPERATE THE WEATHER RADAR WHILE FUEL IS ADDED
_______ OR REMOVED FROM THE AIRPLANE. DO NOT TRANSMIT RF ENERGY WHILE FUEL IS ADDED OR REMOVED IN AN AREA 300 FEET OR LESS OF THE ANTENNA. THIS CAN CAUSE AN EXPLOSION.
MAKE SURE NO PERSONS ARE IN THE AREA 50 FEET OR LESS FROM THE ANTENNA WHEN IT TRANSMITS RF ENERGY. RF ENERGY CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS.
(b)
Push the 20 range switch on the captain's indicator. 1) Make sure the captain's indicator shows the selected range.
(c)
Push the 40 range switch on the first officer's indicator.
1) Make sure the first officer's indicator shows the selected range.
(d)
Push the RGT display switch on the first officer's indicator.
1) Make sure a right view shows with the source at the bottom left on each indicator.

(e) Push the M/S switch on the captain's indicator.
1) Make sure these messages and displays are on the captain's indicator: a) WX mode message b) A 40-mile range message shows. c) A SLV message shows in place of the color bar. d) Target returns and messages are the same as the first
officer's indicator.
(f)
Push the M/S switch on the first officer's indicator.
1) Make sure these messages and displays are on the first officer's indicator: a) WX or STBY mode message b) SLV message shows in place of the color bar.
(g)
Push the M/S switch on the captain's indicator (to disengage).
1) Make sure these messages and displays are on the first officer's indicator: a) WX mode message b) 20-mile range message c) SLV message
2) Target returns and messages are the same as on the captain's indicator.
(h)
Push the M/S switch on the first officer's indicator.
1) Make sure these messages are on the first officer's indicator: a) WX mode message b) 40-mile range message c) Color bar shows d) Initial display shows
(i)
Set the SYS switch on the WXR control panel to the 2 position.
(j)
Do the Master/Slave Display Test for system 2.
(k)
Set the SYS switch on the WXR control panel to the 1 position.
(l)
If no further tests of weather radar are necessary; Do the Weather Radar Shutdown Procedure.
J. AF 160, 162-171; Gain Test
NOTE: The full gain test will not be possible when there are no
____ weather radar targets from mountains or large structures. When there are no targets, only the gain message part of this test will be done.
(1) Do a weather radar gain test.
(a) Set the controls and switches on the WXR control panel as follows: 1) Set the SYS switch to the 1 position.

2) Set the MODE select switch to WX.

a) Make sure that no system gain message is present on
both indicators.
