1) Red, amber, and green lamps do not illuminate.
NOTE: Some lights, including the red WARN light and green
____ READY NAV light, may flash briefly at turn-on.
2) INSERT key is illuminated.
3) On airplanes with Delco CIVA-25, CIVA-28A, CIVA-28A-2, or 32C INS, numerals 0 1 appear in FROM-TO display.
4) On airplanes with Delco CIVA-20 or CIV-31N INS, numerals 1 2 appear in FROM-TO display. 5) Place data selector to DSRTK/STS and check that right-hand data display is 0---95.
6) On ATLAS ALL EXCEPT SN airplanes, place data selector to DSRTK/STS, press HOLD key and check that: a) HOLD light illuminates b) On airplanes with CIV-31N INS programs,
the left-hand display shows 63 14 c) On airplanes with CIVA-20 INS programs, the left-hand display shows 11 05 d) On airplanes with CIVA-25 INS programs,
the left-hand display shows 11 11 XA e) On airplanes with CIVA-26-2 INS programs, XA the left-hand display shows 11 22
f) On airplanes with CIVA-28A INS, the left-hand display shows 11 17. g) On airplanes with CIVA-28A-2 INS, the left-hand display shows 11 24. h) On airplanes with CIVA-32C INS programs, the left-hand display shows 25 15. i) When HOLD key is pressed again the light goes off 7) BAT lamp on CDU illuminates for one 10-second period during alignment (mode 8). 8) Appropriate ADI should erect.
NOTE: On ATLAS ALL EXCEPT AT 701-750,
____ if No. 3 INS is being tested, the ATT/COMP STAB switch (located below captain's HSI) should be set to CAPT 3 F/O 2 position.
On AT 701-750,
if No. 3 INS is being tested, the captain's
ATTITUDE switch (located below captain's HSI)
should be set to CAPT 3 position.
(b) Place data selector to POS and press and hold TEST switch. Check that: 1) All keys (EXCEPT KEYBOARD AND CLEAR keys) and lamps on CDU
and MSU illuminate.

2) Numerals 88.88.8 N/S are displayed in left-hand data display. 3) Numerals 888.88.8 E/W are displayed in right-hand data display. 4) Numerals 8 8 are displayed in FROM-TO display.
(c)
Press and hold TEST switch while rotating DIM knob and observe that intensity of data displays, FROM-TO display, ALERT lamp, and HOLD, REMOTE, INSERT, and WYPT CHG keys is changed.
(d)
Set DIM knob for optimum intensity.
(e)
Rotate data selector switch to various positions and observe that decimal point in left-hand display (and degree symbol in both displays) shifts position.
NOTE: In following procedures where latitude and longitude
____ are displayed, the displayed value may vary slightly (plus or minus 0.1) in the least significant digit from the inserted value. This is a normal condition.
(2) Insert Present Position Data (All INS)
NOTE: Present position latitude and longitude should be inserted
____ as soon after turn-on as possible. Automatic alignment of the INS cannot be accomplished until this data is inserted separately into each INS through the individual control display units.
(a)
Place data selector to POS and press N2 or S8 key for north or south present position latitude. Check that 00.00.0 followed by correct letter (N or S) appears in left-hand data display.
(b)
Press numbered keys in sequence for present position latitude and observe that correct latitude appears in left-hand data display.
NOTE: Numbers shift to left in display as each additional
____ number is loaded. If incorrect data is displayed, press CLEAR key and repeat steps (a) and (b).
(c)
Press INSERT key and observe that INSERT key light remains illuminated.
(d)
Press W4 or E6 key for west or east present position longitude and observe that 000.00.0 followed by correct letter (W or E) appears in right-hand data display.
(e)
Press numbered keys in sequence for present position longitude and observe that correct longitude appears in right-hand data display.
NOTE: If incorrect data is displayed, press CLEAR key and

repeat steps (d) and (e).
