(2) Do a test of the controls on the indicators:
(a)
Turn the INT control clockwise.
1) Make sure the intensity of range marks, azimuth lines, alphanumerics, and the test pattern increases.
(b)
Turn the INT control counterclockwise.
1) Make sure the intensity of range marks, azimuth lines, alphanumerics, and the test pattern decreases.
(c)
Turn the INT control on the captain's indicator to the middle position.
(d)
Turn the INT control on the first officer's indicator to the middle position.
(e)
AF 160, 162-171; Press the AZ display select switch on each indicator. 1) Make sure all blue azimuth marks are removed from the
indicator.
(f)
AF 160, 162-171; Press the AZ display select switch again on each indicator. 1) Make sure all azimuth marks show on both indicators.
(g)
AF 160, 162-171; Make sure each indicator shows the correct number of range marks and range mark messages as follows:
NOTE: The test pattern must stay the same for all
____ ranges. The bands are related to the position on the indicators but not to the range.
1) Range to 20 - 4 range marks, 20-mi range message, and 5-mile range mark message.
2) Range to 40 - 4 range marks, 40-mi range message, and 10-mile range mark message.
3) Range to 80 - 4 range marks, 80-mi range message, and 20-mile range mark message.
4) Range to 160 - 4 range marks, 160-mi range message, and 40-mile range mark message.
