When at STS 80 or lower (3 minutes after turn on), position ATTITUDE switch to transfer information from INS undergoing test to the ADI. (Refer to Flight Instrument Switching - Description and Operation) - Check that attitude sphere in ADI will level with airplane symbol and that ADI GYRO and RMI HEADING flags are withdrawn. (HSI HEADING and NAVIGATION warning or barber pole flags should be withdrawn before status 40. Do not wait for status 40 before continuing but monitor flags and note that they withdraw from view).

Set display selector switch to DSR TK/STS and select ALIGN position of mode selec-tor switch on MSU -
Check that warn annunciator does not flash and check mode sequencing as follows:
(1)
Right-hand data display is 80 at 3 minutes after MSU mode selector switch set to ALIGN (if ambient temp is less than 70`F, this time could exceed 3 minutes. If temp is greater than 70`F and time exceeds 3 minutes, check 115-volt ac circuit breakers on P7 panel).
(2)
Right-hand data display is 70 at 2 minutes after status 80 is attained, and present position entered.
(3)
If no flashing WARN is encountered in alignment status 60, the system attains alignment status 50 within 75 seconds.
IF -
When at status 50, set display selector switch to TK/GS - Check left-hand display indicates true heading (magnetic | variation) and right-hand display is all zeros. (At ground speeds below 10 knots, true heading is displayed in place of inertial track angle.) IF -

Set data selector switch to WIND - Check that displays are blank at ground speed less than 170 knots TAS (left display indicates wind direction (true) from 0 to 359`, right display wind speed from 0 to 799 knots, both in increments of 1). IF -

Set data selector switch to DSR TK/STS and set AUTO/MAN/RMT switch to MAN. Using TK CHG key and data keyboard, initiate track 3-4 followed by track 4-3. Press data keyboard 0 key. Enter a 45.0` track in left-hand display using data keyboard and press INSERT key - Check that CDU displays are as follows:
(1)
Left-hand data display indicates 000.0` for track 3-4 selection.
(2)
Left-hand data display indicates 180.0` for track 4-3 selection.
(3)
Right display shows present system status.
(4)
FROM/TO display indicates 9-9 and left-hand data display indicates 45.0` when this track is inserted in computer.
