Remove the INU's from the tilt tables.
CAUTION: BEFORE REMOVING INU-1 AND -2 FROM THE TILT TABLES,
_______ TURN THE POWER OFF AND ALLOW APPROXIMATELY 15 MINUTES FOR THE GYROS TO COAST DOWN. IF THE UNITS ARE REMOVED TOO SOON, GYROSCOPIC PRECESSION CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.

Install the INU units in the airplane racks (AMM 34-41-03/401).
(w)
Turn on the INS system (AMM 34-41-00/501). 1) Align to at least the coarse align mode.
a) Make sure the attitude flags on the captain's and the first officer's ADI do not show.
(x)
If no more tests of the weather radar are necessary; Do the Weather Radar System Shutdown Task.
4. Weather Radar System Shutdown Procedure_______________________________________
A. General
(1) Do the weather radar system shutdown when the weather radar operational test or system tests are completed. Set the switches, controls and circuit breakers to the shutdown configuration as follows.

C. Procedure
(1) Shut down the weather radar system as follows:
(a)
AF 160, 162-171; Set the switches and controls on the WXR control panel as follows: 1) Mode select switch - TEST 2) SYS transfer switch - 1 3) TILT control - 0 degrees 4) GAIN control - CAL 5) GND CLTR SPRS switch - OFF
(b)
AF 183, 184; Set the switches and controls on the WXR control panel as follows: 1) TEST MODE switch - pressed 2) SYS transfer switch - OFF 3) TILT control - 0 degree 4) GAIN control - 12 o'clock 5) GND SPR switch - OFF
(c)
Set the controls on the weather radar indicator as follows:

f) F/O FLT INST SW RELAYS -ATT COMP STAB
(2) Shut down this interface system if this system is no longer necessary.
(a) Inertial Navigation System (AMM 34-41-00/501)
1) Set the INS mode selector switch to OFF before airplane power is removed.
CAUTION: WHEN THE INS MODE SELECTOR IS NOT SET TO "OFF"
_______ BEFORE AIRPLANE POWER IS REMOVED, THE INS AUTOMATICALLY SWITCHES TO BATTERY POWER. A WARNING HORN IN NOSE WHEEL ACTUATES 30 |10 SECONDS AFTER POWER IS REMOVED FROM THE AIRPLANE.
(3) Remove electrical power if it is not necessary (AMM 24-22-00/201).

WEATHER RADAR CONTROL PANEL - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General
_______
A. The weather radar control panel is located in the aft control stand, and is secured by four quick-release fasteners. The electrical connectors are accessible on the rear of the unit when removed from the control stand.
2. Remove Weather Radar Control Panel
__________________________________
A. Open WEA RDR RT/1 and WEA RDR RT/2 circuit breakers on overhead circuit breaker panel P7 before removing control panel and tag circuit breakers with do-not-operate identifiers.
B. Remove control panel from aft control stand and disconnect electrical connectors.
3. Install Weather Radar Control Panel
___________________________________
A. Open WEA RDR RT/1 and WEA RDR RT/2 circuit breakers on overhead circuit breaker panel P7 and tag circuit breakers with Do-Not-Operate identifiers.
B. Connect electrical connectors on control panel to airplane connectors DB142A and DB142B in aft control stand.
CAUTION: WEATHER RADAR AND INS CONTROL DISPLAY UNIT (CDU) CONNECTORS ARE
_______ INTERCHANGEABLE. DO NOT CONNECT INS CDU CONNECTORS DB171A OR DB171B TO WEATHER RADAR CONTROL PANEL OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT COULD RESULT.
