(15)
Observe indicator for two bright solid bands between 70 and 100 NM, which indicates one test video target. Observe dark band (iso-contour) between these bright bands.
(16)
Press the AZIM MKS pushbutton and check that the azimuth lines appear at 30-degree intervals. Press again, and check that azimuth lines disappear.
(17)
A VSWR fault will cause a periodic break-up in the indicator display.
(18)
At control panel, select system 2 by placing system (R/T) transfer switch to 2.
(19)
Repeat range checks and test pattern checks for system 2.
(20)
Perform pitch, roll, and azimuth stabilization self-tests.
(a)
At R/T number 1, press LAMP TEST switch and observe ANT and R/T lamps illuminate.
(b)
At R/T number 1, press ROLL STABILIZATION TEST SWITCH and hold.
NOTE: When a stabilization test button is initially pressed
____ and held for the test, the FAULT lamps may light steadily, intermittently or not at all. The pushbuttons should not be held depressed for more than 45 seconds; significant errors are introduced in the stabilization system at this time, and the annunciators on the R/T front panel may trip and indicate a fault condition.
(c)
Observe that R/T and ANT fault lamps are extinguished after 10 seconds.
(d)
Release ROLL STABILIZATION TEST SWITCH.
(e)
Repeat steps (b) thru (d) for AZ.
(f)
Repeat steps (b) thru (d) for ELEV.
(g)
At the control panel, select system 2.
(h)
Press lamp test switch on R/T number 2 and observe ANT and R/T lamps illuminate, then repeat steps (b) thru (f) for R/T number 2.
